Mod Conflicts in Obmm

Good Morning.

I have recently dabbled in a number of mods for Oblivion, and after testing a few I have settled on a handful of ones I like.

I have,

BTMOD

Elven Map Redux (Elven cartographers)

Francescos leveled creatures/items mod

HGEC

Roberts male replacer

Montanas companion 2

Better gold

Universal silent Voice

And am using OBMM and OBSE for these. I had a look at wyre bash and it frankly baffles me, I'm afraid. So I'll stick to the noob friendly option of OBMM instead.

I ran the conflict detector as I had problems loading saves. I could load a save inside the imperial sewers (the "last chance to change setup etc" save) but attempting to load a save from outside the sewers constantly crashed without loading. Not sure why, hence running the detector.

I receive conflicts in Francescos mod. New Creatures.esm, New Items.esm and leveled creatures/items.esm all show red, as well as the Francesos optional files.esp.

Also from Roberts malebody replacer mod, I receive conflicts between beautiful people, and malebody replacer. My guess with this is you can run one or the other? Perhaps someone in the know will know. I will stick to just using male body replacer if necessary.

Hopefully some kind person can shed light on what is no doubt a relatively trivial problem with a simple solution, but forgive me, I am still very green when it comes to the more technical side of using mods.

I'll keep an eye on this post, if there is any other information I can provide to assist diagnosis I would be grateful for any help. I have been reading the understanding mod conflict reports threads about the place, so am attempting to self correct as well.

Many Thanks,

Notoriusben.

First of all, if you are going to add ANY race mods or replacers, do not use Beautiful People, as it does not play well with other races, and causes things like googly eyes and such. Secondly, mods like Francescos, OOO, MMM, Roberts, HGEC, etc. are overhaul/replacer mods, and so you are going to get conflict reports -- do not take too much stock in OBMM's conflict detector. The nature of many, many mods, even official patches and plugins, is to REPLACE or update meshes, textures, etc, and by this very nature you will see conflicts. What must be said here, though, is to eliminate, or cut down on any serious conflicts, it's very important to order your load list correctly (via BOSS and updated masterlist) and create a Bashed Patch (with Wrye Bash) every time you add/remove/or edit a mod. Wyre Bash may seem daunting at first, but take time to learn and install these indispensible utilities, and you'll be saving yourself headaches later on.

Thanks for the reply.

Got rid of beautiful people. It causes the hollow eyes glitch when used with roberts replacer. So thats solved.

As to Fran's, I can get rid of the conflicts by not running the Optional Creatures and Optional Files options. Meaning I still get the leveled creatures, and optional extra items. Which according to the masterlist you have posted, is apparently the correct step. And BOSS has rejiggered my Load List slightly, which I hope will help.

I shall try to run the game properly now, fresh start. I will report any problems (or successes!)

Thanks

Actually, 'Hollow eyes' problem is the result of 'Beautiful People+RM-BP compatibility plugin'. :P Since BP physically replaces default eye meshes with Elaborate Eye meshes, it won't play nice with RM-BP compatibility patch, which is for older version of BP, unless you installed Elaborate Eyes.

**As long as you know how to fiddle with race plugins, you can make BP and custom races play well. (In fact, if any custom race uses its own eye meshes, it won't have much problem with BP, except vampire eyes. But, custom race with custom eye meshes always has problem with vampire eyes with or without BP)

Did you just deactivate the esp files from Frans or actually delete stuff other than the esp files?

If you deleted stuff, then you'll have to run Frans installer again. Better to be safe than sorry I say :P, then just not active, or not install, the options you don't want to see in the game.

That should fix missing meshes. Unless of course it's from another mod that isn't Frans. ;)

Yes, as mentioned, make sure you removed the Frans items correctly. If you are still having issues once you have done that, you can install FormID Finder which will tell you exactly which mod the missing meshes belong to.
