Meilak
Hi, I'm not new to modding in general, and I think I can use the G.E.C.K. fairly well. However, I'm quite new to retexing, and I want to learn. I know all about .dds editing, and anyway I've done that already. What I'm talking about it making unique textures and using them in-game. For example, let's say I wanted to make a different texture for the Xuanlong Assault Rifle, and make it different from the Chinese Assault Rifles. If I just edited a .dds and put it in the textures folder, all Chinese Assault Rifles will show up wearing it, since they both use the same texture. So basically, what I want to know is this: How do I tell the G.E.C.K., the game, or whatever else, that only the Xuanlong can use that texture? This is obviously a very simple question, I just haven't found a straight answer on the Internet to match yet. Thanks in advance. PS: Will it hurt to check out my stuff? ;) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=2183623
Ghogiel
short answer: make a new "texture set" entry for your new texture in the geck. now open the assult rifle entry, rename it so its now your unique entry. then apply that texture set to the model. you will have to make a new 1stperson list entry and apply the texture set to that as well. Quetzlsacatanango
You can also change the texture path in the nif if you know how to do that. I prefer that way because then no one else has to use your esp, but either way works just as well.

I don't know how to use it yet. I said yet, because I'm gonna learn and do the thing you told me. Thanks for the help dude.
