ICERAY2000
WARNING: do not try this at home: I just used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall CUBE Experimental Installer. It deleted everything, including the root fFallout3 directory and all sub-directories. Gone. Over 150 MODS plus the entire GOTY edition Fallout3. Now that 's what I call a comprehensive uninstall. I have no idea whether it was Revo or the Install program for CUBE, but I'm pretty sure I'm finished with this game.
evilneko
Why would you use Revo to uninstall a mod?
GrindedStone
Bah! It doesn't matter... It's just a simulation. I'm sure you're not going to let a setback get you down or anything. Just build another simulation. You were totally over the color blackish green anyway. It doesn't seem like CUBE would be the cause of this. It's been so popular over the years I tend to think an issue like this would have come up already. You know it could be viral. What the heck is that Revo thing you mentioned? yeahchris
Using some random 3rd party software to uninstall a mod, rather than, say, the FOMM package manager (which was designed to install and uninstall mods for Fallout) seems like a very bad idea. That was kind of the point of the post, my friend; however, it's not a "random" 3rd party program, it's a very popular and very reliable and very well-known program. I've used it for years to uninstall - if you think Windows uninstalls a program, just TRY REVO and you will be stunned by the bits and pieces programs leave on your hard drive ( I recently uninstalled an audio program and there were over 1400 entries in the Registry for it that Windows never would have removed)! It is obviously NOT for MODs, but it is a fantastic program. Yes, of course, all I had to do to not have CUBE is simply uncheck it. It is still, however, problematic that a program (such as the installer EXE for CUBE) registered in Windows Add/Remove list would be so aggressively uninstalled! So yes, you got the warning right - do not use an uninstaller on a MOD! Full marks for you!

Ummm, a little late on the uninstaller idea, my friend.... but ya.
evilneko
It is a program designed to remove other programs, not mods. Sounds like it worked as intended.
bben46
I have used Revo and found it to be a very good program for removing those programs that do not have an uninstaller or those who's uninstaller doesn't work very well. And for some that will keep coming back after being uninstalled the normal way (such as the older version of Ask search engine and toolbar) As has already been said, It's not intended for mods - it will consider the mod as a part of the program and uninstall the entire thing and not just the mod. Have you tried to recover the game from the recycle bin?
