Are you an optimist or pessimist?

Here's what I got:

According to your responses, you are generally the type of person who believes in the goodness of humankind. You give nearly everyone the benefit of the doubt (at least until proven wrong), and will often accept what people say and do at face value instead of making conjectures about their motives. You will at least try to find the good in even the most difficult of people, and are willing to place your faith in others. Unlike their more positive counterparts, pessimists have a lot of difficulty trusting others, believing that most, if not all people have hidden agendas. Tempered with that necessary dose of skepticism, your fairly trusting and accepting nature is refreshing, and likely provides you with a much more balanced and upbeat perspective overall

Very accurate, and I must say that I do agree.

Good idea posting this up, makes me think of who I am at the moment after reading this.

How funny, I'm only one point more Cynicistic then you are. Never thought that I would someone with the same outlook on life as me; fate works in strange ways it seems. :geek:

Here's what I got

Cynicism: 76

According to your responses, your perspective of humankind is rather cynical. You often assume the worst of people, and will usually distrust their motives. Instead of giving others the benefit of the doubt and accept what they say or do at face value, you take a much more self-protective stance. Unless proven otherwise, you generally refuse to believe in other people's good intentions and more often than not, will withhold your trust. Although this perspective may protect you from being taken advantage of, you could definitely benefit from being a little more trusting. Your belief that many people are fundamentally bad can lead to a rather pessimistic outlook, that is, if you don't already have one. Unlike their less positive counterparts, optimists will at least try to find the good in even the most difficult of people, and are much more willing to place their faith in others. Although this doesn't mean that you should trust the good intentions of everyone you meet, a leap of faith every once in a while couldn't hurt.

Pretty true for me

I have to say there's exactly as many of optimists as pessimists. I'm really not sure who I am, when I can trust people, e.g. I know them well, then my 'number on scale' would be about 25. But then if I don't trust these people I'm about 50-55

Heh, I feel like a monster saying this, but cynicism: 94.

Im about as distrustful, heartless, and dislikeable as possible. Infact, I trust my spiders and snakes a lot more than I trust most people.

So far you're the only one more cynical than my 84.

According to your responses, you seem to be the type of

person who believes strongly in the goodness of humankind. You give almost

everyone the benefit of the doubt, and accept what people say and do at face

value instead of making conjectures about their motives. You try to find the

good in even the most difficult of people, and are much more willing to place

your faith in others. Although your trusting and accepting nature is refreshing,

you may benefit from a more balanced perspective. Unfortunately, believing that

everyone you meet has good intentions leaves you open to being taken advantage

of. This doesn't mean that you should be suspicious of others or their motives,

but a little skepticism couldn't hurt.
