login000
Hello nexus team. Would you fix this sometime already maybe:http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/779021-broken-validation-email-content/ And send reactivation emails to all your non-activated accounts, instead of just banning bugmenot accounts for sharing? We have long hands you know. http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2011/10/richard-stallman-quote.jpgJK, but srsly, guise... more than 2 fking years! Dark0ne
That bug is because the receiving email's client, provider or server is changing the activation URL for reasons completely unknown to us. It's not sent out in that way (I've checked, many times), it is changed once it reaches the user's mail server, and only for a small minority of people. Between 4,000 and 8,000 people register successfully every day.
login000
reasons completely unknown to us The reason is that § is a html alias for §-character. Yes, some email services have bad parsers in their implementation, but its your potential users, who have troubles with it and you can fix it. You know better how to, but i can guess its possible by:- changing variable nameor- adding short alias for activation form URL, like for example forums.nexusmods.com/activation.php and sending it to new users instead of §ed oneor- adding "manual activation form" button, in account menu, nearby the "resend me activation email" button
