Illiad86
I have XP Pro, never had a problem upgrading to sp3 ;) Don't think that's your problem though...but it's good to get it to sp3 anyways :). Hmm did you turn that to off or 0, the integrated's RAM in the BIOS?

K00L
Alright well I discovered all the graphics cards the Best Buy offered are HD. So instead of a different card I kept my new one and bought a monitor with HD capabilities. I got home and plugged in a VGA cable.... It did not work. AND the freakin monitor did not come with an HDMI cable! How dumb is that? An HD monitor without a HD cable...... So I am goin back before its 8:00.... Sometimes I hate technology no matter how much joy it brings.
K00L
Well I bought the $30 HDMI cable. Guess what? It still doesn't work. I was watching the computer's lights, and it checks the disk drive, but never makes it to the hard drive and start up. I remember right when my old card crashed the computer did the same thing until I removed it. I think the old card may have damaged the PCI-E slot itself. I'm taking the monitor, cable, and card to Oklahoma with me to try it on the other computer. If it works I will be taking that one home.Sometimes I just want to punch technology in the face :pinch:
K00L
I realized I could buy a low end brand new computer for a few more dollars than what I spent overall.
killzone12
Um honestly I'm not to good with what is what in a computer, like name-wise. Would the motherboard be like Intel Pentium 4? the intel pentium 4 is your processor that processes your data on your computer and how fast your programs run

Ok. uhhh your monitor does not have to be hd to support an hd card. lets see if you dont have the correct output or whatever it is from your card to your monitor you can get various wires that will be something like hdmi to vga dva to hdmi whatever it is most likely your gonna need to disable your on board graphics through bios even if you say its not there it is probably.. anyway.
