ghostfc3s
So I don't know why this is doing this. I have read through the tutorials however I still dont understand why this is happening. If I import the nif file then export it no changes to the model. Using the default for game settings for fallout 3 in the blender my model is now invisable in game however Nif scope can see it just fine. Any ideas? Ghogiel
Hardcoded shader set up. all actors need shadow mapping enabled on all their rigged mesh components. they are the only thing that are hard coded to cast shadows btw. and without that shader, the engine kinda has a special moment. Anyway i just wandered if you could post an import/export screenshots for both weapon meshes and armor/clothing meshes (if different), as i always have problems with which settings work best for what? Maybe a new pinned thread or something that is easy to find as I'm sure I'm not the only one asking this question. Cheers -Jay
Quetzlsacatanango
I don't really know about weapons but I don't see why it would be different.
OriginalJ4Y
I don't really know about weapons but I don't see why it would be different. So far everything seems to be importing and exporting ok clothing wise anyway i just wanted someone to confirm the right settings for import/export tbh. All i need to do now is find a tutorial on adding weathering and rust to weapons. :)
Ghogiel
I don't really know about weapons but I don't see why it would be different.shader set up is certainly different, skinning options, and you can export a bone node for weapon attachment(but you can just creaate them in nifskope in 2 secs)
OriginalJ4Y
I don't really know about weapons but I don't see why it would be different.shader set up is certainly different, skinning options, and you can export a bone node for weapon attachment(but you can just creaate them in nifskope in 2 secs) Ok now the game crashes everytime i start since i added a simple shoulder pad to the existing (working) mesh. Even if i then delete the said part in essence reverting to how the model was beforehand when it worked it stills crashes to desktop. Any ideas why anyone? Edit: Ok i imported the original working mesh into blender then exprted it again without touching anything on the model or changing the settings from any other attempt and now there's flickering texture issues ingame so its got to be something to do with the import/export script? deepside
The flickering texture issue might be the texture path,Check in nifskope if it has the same path as the folder where it is placed in.For weapons there is one thing you must not forget to set, the use bsfadenode root.If you have this not set it will not allow you to drop it ingame(or pick it up) or move it in the geck. For exporting you can use the collision settings weapon/soliod and back or side-depending on what weapon it is. For the shader options you can use the default but with use bsfadenode root activated.Remember one thing as it is possible that blender will remove the projectile node, this you will need to set again in nifskope. You can use the collision box of an existing weapon, import any similar weapon and remove the mesh so it only has the box. Place the new weapon in that box and make sure it is in it's right position.Export with the settings i mentioned and add a projectilenode in nifskope and this would do the trick. It can also be done as ghogiel mentioned in nifskope if you know how that works. If you have enough knowledge of nifskope i personally advice that way as you still need to add the projectilenode when using blender.;) Edited November 29, 2010 by deepside
