Knights of the White Stallion

Hi I downloaded knights of the white stallion, installed it as per instructions, and am using the ooo version. It said to replace the cm partners.esm and .esp, which I did, but now oblivion will not load I.E. it gets stuck at the initial data file loading screen. I do have other cm partners mods. Is there any sort of fix for this?

I took a look at KOTWS, and it looks like you have an outdated version. Apparently, since version 3, CM Partners has no place. More than that, KOTWS has now been superceded by Feudal Empire 300, so you should uninstall KOTWS, reinstall CM Parnters, and upgrad to Feudal Empire 300.

I uninstalled KOTWS, reinstalled CM Partners, installed Feudal Empire 300, and yet the crash persists. I know the problem is CM Partners.esm, through painstakingly testing every single mod (ugh)

Do you use BOSS and a Bashed Patch? A list of your mods, taken from Wrye Bash would be really helpful -- a list from Wrye Bash shows the status of mods, not just a listing.

Yes I use BOSS and a bashed patch, both updated. I tried doing the bashed patch without cm partners.esp which seems to play some part in the problem, and doing this I found that oblivion works with cm partners.esp and all addons for it disabled as well as the batched patch disabled, but not with the bashed patch disabled. The mods are propably somewhat out of order, but just as boss put them, with the unrecognized filed according to the readme for them. My mod list is:

EDIT: The bashed patch may be the cause of this, oblivion has the same problem if I try to run it with solely the bashed patch (masters included of course)

Unless you have rearanged your list manually, or via OBMM, your BOSS masterlist is outdated -- your load order is not as per the new BOSS masterlist..

 

If you are experiencing troubles with the Bashed Patch, then you need to go through it item by item, and UNCHECK any items that are listed but you DON'T have installed -- this is a common oversight by many people when uninstalling mods, and will cause the patch to fail. Equally, make sure that any items you do have installed, and are listed, are checked..

I updated and reran BOSS, and I have made sure that my Bashed Patch is up to date and good. It still does not work.

because I don't remember being able to merge it into the bashed patch.

 

the one on the nexus is outdated

it says to download from the mirror

Okay I updated Feudal Empire 300, used BOSS and followed its instructions, except I did not upgrade to unnecessary violence as that includes things that would conflict with deadly reflex, as well as being buggy and not recognizing nifscript even when I have it. UPDATE: I think the problem is the bashed patch, everything works when I disable it.
