Switch
Nice! But er... I'm afraid your avatar is above the limit. Max avatar file size allowed is 30kb (does no-one look at the Forum Regulations and Policy forum anymore?!). So... if you could change it? :P

Eru
The movie is ready !!! I made 2 versions: Low-Res (400x300) ~27MBHigh-Res (800x600) ~42MB I am currentely looking for someone to 'host' thease files on the web, since I dont have a server. Any help on that issue would be most welcome, and would, of course speed up the release of the movie. Movie Details: Programs used: Maya 4.5/Maya 5.0, Photoshop 7.0, After Effects 5.5, IrfanView 3.8, XnView 4.11, VirtualDub 1.5.7, Creative WaveStudio. The model has ~43k polys after optimization. A 1024x1024 (IrfanView generated) single texture was applied on the entire model, utilising it through 3 different materials. Lighting incorperates Mentar Ray 3.2's Final Gathering & Global Illumination and also Depth-Of-Field. The images were then rendered at 640x480 at Maya .IFF file format, then converted to .TGA, and were run through a couple of functions, all using XnView: Resize (800x600), Color Balance (+30 Red,+30 Blue, +30 Green), Contrast (+25), Sharpen (+50). Then all was inserted into AfteFX, and the Potoshop-Generated Text & Logo were added and the final composition was rendered un-compressed at highest quality, in AfterFX. Then the uncompressed movie was compressed and added music in VirtualDub using Div-X Production-Level compression (at a bit-rate of 8,000), and at once, resized to 400x300 (at the DivX compression options box of VirtualDub), for the 'Low-Res' version. I hope I answered every question you people might have about the prosses of making this movie. One thing I'd like to point out is that I have no formal education of CG (computer-generation) of any kind! Everything I know about using those probrams I know from video tutorials I downloaded from sites like 3dbuzz.com and Digital-Tutors.com, and from my own intuition and experiance... Eru
Since none of the methodes I tried uploadinf the files have worked, so far, I am puting the file Orthanc.avi on my Kazaa shared folder and leaving the program running all night. I tried it with a friend of mine, and it didnt show up when he serched for in on hiz Kazaa... I dont know what the problem could be, but you're all welcome to try and download it. It is a somewhat "lower" quality ("only" 3000bps) but at full 800x600 resolution, and it waighs approx. 17MB. Tell me if you succeed in downloading it... Eru
Well, Its "Show-Time" people!!! Here is the link to the Highest-Quality, Highest-Resolution version of my Orthanc Fly-By movie:Orthanc__high-q__800x600.avi P.S: Since it's compressed at the highest quality possible (8000 bps!!!), you might need to push the 'stop' button on the media player a few times, afer it starts (depending on how fast your PC is), to restart the playback, before the movie plays out correctly! I'll soon have a 'lower-quality' version published, that should play out fine on any PC...
