Genzel
I will now post as proof of me not fearing the number thirteen. Thank you for your time. Btw, do some hotels really not have a thirteenth floor and they skip from twelve to fourteen?

Btw, do some hotels really not have a thirteenth floor and they skip from twelve to fourteen?Yes. I've been in plenty. There are also some hotels with a 13th floor that is technically there, just not on the elevator panel. (The elevator and stairs just skip the floor.) Some places also have 13th floors that have extremely low ceilings where nobody can stand up. @Keanu: lol. But yeah, that would be a logical fallacy. DarkNinja13
Some of the biggest reasons the number 13 instills fear are funny1) The 13th card of the Major Arcana in a Tarot deck is Death2) According to biblical legend, christ was betrayed by the 13th disciple (Judas)3) The same biblical legend has christ crucified on friday the 13th4) A Norse myth tells of 12 gods dining at Valhallah, their heaven. A 13th uninvited guest, Loki, arrived, persuading the god of darkness to slay the god of happiness.5) In ancient Rome a witch's coven comprised 12, with the 13th member being the devil. Numerologists consider the number 12 a complete number for several reasons: the number of apostles, the total number of tribes in israel, the number of months in a year, the number of Olympian gods, the zodiac signs and Hercules' labours. 13's association with bad luck is the simple, unavoidable fact that it exceeds a complete number by just one. But I think it's funny for Americans to have this phobia1) The country was founded from 13 colonies2) Old Glory (the American Flag) has 13 stripes3) The phrase on our money and plaques in public places "In god we trust" has 13 letters Heck, it's just a number

Corporal businesses worldwide lose thousands of dollars on Friday the 13th, or any 13th day, because they are Triskaphobic. Surprising how far it has gone... Keanumoreira
I had Triskadecaphobia....but the wheels fell off :pinch: So you're afriad of a geometric symbol with thirteen sides that is somehow related to this wagon of yours?
AliasTheory
Would it? :whistling: Lol, yeah, it probably is... You can't be that shortsighted...can you? Just because someone fails to respond doesn't mean he or she has this fear that you speak of. Jumping to conclusions. We've got lives to live, and tons of other things to do. :) But I think it's funny for Americans to have this phobia1) The country was founded from 13 colonies2) Old Glory (the American Flag) has 13 stripes3) The phrase on our money and plaques in public places "In god we trust" has 13 letters I never realized that...how interesting. That last one is more coincidence, but a cool one. But yes, I agree. It is only a number designating a certain quantity of something. It only gets the negative connotation if we choose to believe it.
Maharg67
I myself like the number 13 because it fits in some of my stories being one lord with three important followers who each have three important followers (1 + 3 + 9 = 13). In Europe they often do not have a thirteenth floor but this does not mean the buildings fall down, or at least I hope so. In the tradition of the devil, the number 666 is the one of ultimate badness.
