Are you Triskaphobic?

I myself like the number 13 because it fits in some of my stories being one lord with three important followers who each have three important followers (1 + 3 + 9 = 13).

In Europe they often do not have a thirteenth floor but this does not mean the buildings fall down, or at least I hope so.

In the tradition of the devil, the number 666 is the one of ultimate badness.

Actually, from a numerological standpoint, 6 is a number of perfection because it's integers come to the number whether they are added or multiplied. 1+2+3=6 1X2X3=6

So 3 6's would be extreme perfection.

Would it? :whistling:

Lol, yeah, it probably is...

You can't be that shortsighted...can you? Just because someone fails to respond doesn't mean he or she has this fear that you speak of. Jumping to conclusions. We've got lives to live, and tons of other things to do. :)

But I think it's funny for Americans to have this phobia

1) The country was founded from 13 colonies

2) Old Glory (the American Flag) has 13 stripes

3) The phrase on our money and plaques in public places "In god we trust" has 13 letters

I never realized that...how interesting. That last one is more coincidence, but a cool one. But yes, I agree. It is only a number designating a certain quantity of something. It only gets the negative connotation if we choose to believe it.

I was siding with you!

I'm not compulsive or judging, it was just a joke...

Actually it has 12 letters... unless you mean the most popular version "In gold we trust"...

PS: Not sure but I think triskaphobia is afraid of the number 3.

I was wondering the same thing...

Just as a curiosity, the 6 is considered perfect mathematically, the reason already pointed above.

Three main function dictates the relation between the number and it's divisors:

d(n) being the raw amount of divisors (1 is always included in all these functions)

sigma(n) being the sum of all divisors including n

s(n) being the sum of proper divisors (excluding n). That's the one defining the number as deficient (the sum is lesser than the number itself), perfect when they are equal or abundant when the sum is greater that n.

only 3 numbers bellow 1000 are perfect: 6, 28 and 496
