iRyoo
Since it was a good idea and it's possible to achive: "Seriously guys, why has no one made a single tiny mod that would add some creepiness to where it belongs??When I go through morthal marshes I MUST feel in danger, I must turn around all the time, because I'm afraid that some creepy ass wraith will jump on me from behind, and suck out my essence! But what do I get in those "creepy marshes"? Right! Damn mudcrabs!Or an ancient Nordic ruin, how am I supposed to be scared when battling these draugr, I hear this awesome beautiful music, that one would listen to while picking flowers!I mean guys, come on! Is it that hard to add some creepy/wierd/demented sounds to where they belong? Is that hard to make couple if enemies, that will make you stare at the screen so you can see them coming, before it jumps in front of your face. making it actually scary to go through marshes/ruins/caves?People have created lots of awesome mods, yet none that make skyrim encounters challenging to face MENTALLY.Please someone make this!! :0Here are some ideas:Take samples from creepy morrowind background noise.Add MOAR fog to morthal.Add soul tearing sounds to wisp mothers (the sound of banshee's in the "haunted mansion" game were f***ing SCARY)Make nights more daunting.Add some creepy sea monsters, so every time you go underwater, you look into depths of it, hoping that thing won't come out.A creature that creates void around itself, so when it is close, everything turns pitch black, and you have to fight it with no crosshair and vision of your weapons.Statues that sometimes come alive when you don't look at them (kinda like weeping angels( I believe that's what they are called))Well and anything you come up with.Note: I don't want a horror game, I just want more excitement to the parts of the game, that should bring more emotion, than they do now." brolol404
I like the idea, but you would have to change the whole mechanic of Skyrim. Most enemies in Skyrim are either weak or easily avoidable; and therefore, not scary. In order to turn Skyrim into a horror game, you would need to cap the player's abilities to a point where the player feels helpless in the world and death could happen in an instant. brolol404
With that said, I'll look into this more and maybe start creating a complete horror overhaul.

In order to turn Skyrim into a horror game, you would need to cap the player's abilities to a point where the player feels helpless in the world and death could happen in an instant. You don't need to necessary chance the whole mechanics. There sure are simpler solutions.F.E. you could increase the amount of DMG cerain Mobs to make the player behaive more cautiousness when he enters a dark doungeons. You could also add ramdom creepy noises (like some sort of jumpscares in certain areas) which sound like nearby monsters - the player will act more careful, looking out if there is any danger. "Statues that sometimes come alive when you don't look at them (kinda like weeping angels( I believe that's what they are called))""Add soul tearing sounds to wisp mothers (the sound of banshee's in the "haunted mansion" game were f***ing SCARY)""A creature that creates void around itself, so when it is close, everything turns pitch black, and you have to fight it with no crosshair and vision of your weapons." These simply ideas would make a great difference. Like the quoted autor said: creating horror and creepiness is based on mental influences. The player have to think he's in actual danger and might die or s* his pants if he keep walking through that dark corridor.Sure it's a lot of work, but would definitely make Skyrim a new experience. Hope my englis is understandable and happy Skyriming (yeah thats a word!)

Hope my englis is understandable and happy Skyriming (yeah thats a word!) After thinking about this more, I decided to start working on a DLC sized island instead of overhauling all of Tamriel. This will allow me to build the horror element from the ground up. I agree, and the horror will be based on mental influences by using the entire ambient surrondings: sounds, environment, climate, weather, creatures, caution, danger, etc... I am open to any additional ideas as this mod is now very early in development.
Leubast
Be sure to add blood trails that lead to secrets (or doom). Also, disappearing creatures could add that "*sigh of relief* It was just my imagination... AHH!" effect. Maybe notifications that occasionally pop up saying things like, "I feel someone's breath on my neck." "I feel like someone's watching me." "Why do I feel trapped?"Hope you could maybe add some of this to some caves and ruins that deserve to be haunting once you get it down. SkurgeDrakken
@ IpCoercion Since You're going with an island,You can make it a world of it's own.Having all the same monsters from the game ,but the native islanders could have Their own names and lore for each. Also, only one of each ,or only a handfull, seeing as You would probably amp up each ones strengths. Some of the monsters,as in vampires and witches, could appear normal at first, only revealing Themselves once You've outlived You're usefullness to Them.I like Your idea of using weather for atmosphere also, sporadic thunder and lightning and a constant fog shrouding the horizon, would certainly increase the spook factor.Pretty much what I'm thinking is Universal Horror in Skyrim.I hope You liked the input ,thanks for reading.
