A couple of wearable items (for an eyebot)

Good morning everybody! I was wondering if someone may be willing to help me out by making (or just giving me some pointers) a couple of apparel pieces for an eyebot to wear - a monocle and a top hat.

 

The monocle may be a bit trickier since there isn't one in the game, so I can live without it (I found one for Fallout 3 and I'm waiting to see if the author allows me to use it) but the top-hat I haven't been able to find. There is one in the game for humanoids (in meshes/armor/headgear/tuxedo), but when I tried just putting it in the creatures/eyebot folder, it appeared in the modellist but the eyebot wouldn't equip it...

 

Please let me know if you can help! You'd make my day :)

So, I've been messing around in Blender and Nifskope and managed to cobble something together. Here's a picture.

But the thing either crashes the GECK instantly, does not appear at all, or does appear but does not move with the eyebot (I read that it may be related to bone weight, but I've been trying to do it in Blender all day and it just won't work - the only way I managed to get it to work was by copypasting branches with Nifskope into the monocle found here, and then my pieces just sort of float along motionless...). Really sad.

 

So, perhaps, someone with a bit of time could perhaps do it for me and be my hero(ine)? Paint me like one of your French girls the weights, that is, or whatever the heck it is that won't let my eyebot become as classy as he needs to be. Here's the basic mesh. I would be most appreciated! :smile:
