ObLars
Repair mod. I always thought repairing weapons/armour was a pain. I don't use this one, as i made one for myself. But repair mods are always great to have. I use a sniper, mostly. And its pretty hard to either have to dish out 400-500 caps for repairs, or having to find another sample of the weapon. This really works out the problems with Repairing. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10647 I'd also download Pointlookout DLC. Since it adds some pretty awesome Weapons; Axes, Double-Barrel shotgun, 10mm Rifle etc. Its all good. :)
ContactSupport765
That's a hard one and everyone will have a different opinion. These are my essential mod. Fallout Mod Manager - Manages your mods http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640FOSE - Fallout scripting extender, needed by many mods http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8606Darnified UI - A UI tailored to the PC, not consoles. Essential if you play for more than 5 minutes. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1121454-wipzbeta-darnified-ui-f3/Something to remove annoying green tint to everything:either Fellout http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2672or Dynamic Weather with the Green Tint Remover addin http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10607 I would include the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch which fixes many minor and major bugs that Bethesda couldn't be bothered to fix, but that hasn't been updated for the latest Fallout patches (I think the creator got tired of cleaning up behind Bethesda). EDIT: Remembered Dynamic Weather
ICERAY2000
patch game to 1.7!MUST HAVES: FOSE & FOMM as linked above - absolutely essential.Everyone has a list; depends what you want your game to evolve into. You can be an explorer, a shooter, a collector, a hero, a villain, on and on. Check the most popular downloads, the most endorsed, and more importantly, READ all the help files and use FOMM to install your MODS whenever possible, and don't be afraid to ask for help, there's thousands of helpful people here that can get you going.Personally I like Calibr, eXcalibr, 20th century weapons, quickstart (great for starting that 2nd, 3rd etc character), Abode is great as it is a storage area always accessible so you aren't constantly returning to Megaton to sell off your found stuff, 999lb limit, 100REPT traders - gets your stuff fixed to 100%, Advanced Recon Gear if your into stealth, CREBSOR - allows you to get past the ending of main quest, Megaton Basement is a nice addition to your Megaton house, Marts Mutant Mod if you like to shoot a lot, and Speech, Hack and Max level - great for 2nd, 3rd. etc times through as it hacks the computers for you, raises your speech chance to influence, and takes off the cap level if you just want to keep playing. That'll get you started. BaronofHe11
I would play with just the patch first. Then add mods. That is what I did at least. Here are my must haves.1. FOSE - You won't be able to play a lot of mods without it2. Unofficial Patch - Fixes a ton of things. Note many people think it breaks the game, but others like me think it makes the game more playable. I couldn't finish zeta without it.3. FWE4. MMM5. Arsenal Mod6. Everything by Black Blossom7. ram booster I have over 200 mods going so it is kind of hard to decide. You should check out the top mods

Stryfe23
Is there any type of enemy fixed levels mod similar to what Fran's or OOO did for oblivion, fixing the enemies levels? I don't like game where your opponents "level up with you"... Also has anyone created a mod list order "sorting" mod, kind like what BOSS did for Oblivion? Talus057
This is a cool topic. I didn't know DarNified UI had a mod for Fallout3.Aside from what others have already mentioned, FO3edit is an excellent tool that should definitely be installed with FOMM. Make sure you read it's documentation on how to use it.Alternate Start - Roleplayers is also a great little mod if you have already played through the vault intro before. You might also give RTS NW a look see if you are looking for something different. Deleted1932859User
Hi guys, can you reccomenda good weapon pack and what conflcts there are with multiple packs? I am asking this because i try to use multiple ones and i get crashes. FO3edit fixes combined mods FO3EDIT IS A MUST HAVE (errr...mmmm mod? Tool!) - place FO3edit into fallout3 folder (not data)- run it- cannot find something means you have a mod that needs another mod that is not installed- otherwise do what it says- then when finished right-click anywhere in the LHS panel and create a Merged Patch- if it has errors then you will need to check your load order until the errors disappear but even if you ignore that error the game will run fine (in my experience)- Enable the Merged Patch you created in FOMM and it MUST be last in load order and play game - if npc's look different, its your load order - shuffle it, the lower the mod in the list the more priority it will have- Skin not matching Face tone? add another copy of FO3edit and rename it to FO3Masterupdate and run it - fixed.- any mod thats not compatible with masterupdate process - just simply replace that esp from original download file. Essential mods? anything by Kendo!! :) Edited November 24, 2010 by Guest
