Hardlinks can't be copied to a different HD so you're actually copying the real files over there.

Yakumounr
Is it possible to create an install order? I feel like I'm missing something.I know you can create an order for esm/esp files, but what if the install order of raw file mods (eg texture bundles) is important. DuskDweller
In response to post #22198479. NMM keeps tracks of file overwrites, so the install order won't matter.
Yakumounr
So is that stored in the profiles as well then, so reinstalls or profile sharing works ? Edited January 30, 2015 by Yakumounr
eddieeddieeddie
can you use texture optimizer and/or SMCO with with the new nmm 0.60 profiles?
Yakumounr
can you use texture optimizer and/or SMCO with with the new nmm 0.60 profiles? You'd have to try it and see, or ask the author. If you point it to the original skyrim /data directory then it would read NMM 0.6 *active* module files via the symlinks/hardlinks created there. The problems would start when it's writing the new compressed files back out, if it's deleting the files in, then creating new ones rather than just writing back to within an already opened file it would break simlinked files. It could work if it's only following symlinked folders as it shouldn't be messing with those, so it would just be working within the real location having followed the link.I don't think NMM could work fully if it only linked folders, so it's going to be an issue of specifically how the texture optimiser works, you'd have to check/ask them. Sorry, I know that's not really very helpful, but if it keeps you wary before trying anything drastic before someone with deeper knowledge can reply it'll be worth it :)
softail4life
The new update got rid of the lag and stuttering for me switching back and forth between mods and plugins, Thank you, and keep up the excellent work. Endorsed
dlinacre
WARNING - What this essentially does is to re-install every mod you've downloaded from the Nexus - even if all you do is switch profiles. So if, like me, you tend to make amendments to other peoples mods (for your own use, obviously - say, add something to a player home mod, or change the value of a weapon) you will LOSE those changes when you first install this, and again whenever you switch profiles. Nice idea, but too much hard work for me...
Yakumounr
req: Add mod from file is useful, but add all from folder would be even more useful. bug: 0.5.3 would crash if you tried to uninstall a mod and it couldn't access a file it expected to find (locked, or missing)0.60.0a is crashing in exactly the same way just trying to delete a mod that was not active when 0.60.0a was installed The crash dialog states "The following information is in the Trace Log" (bit ambiguous, would imply to many that it's a list of the full contents, when the full list logs install paths and mods installed, considering some of the racier mods some may consider that private) Tracing an Unhandled Exception:Exception: Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.Full Trace: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Nexus.Client.ModManagement.UI.ModManagerControl.ViewModel_ChangingModActivation(Object sender, EventArgs`1 e) at System.EventHandler`1.Invoke(Object sender, TEventArgs e) at Nexus.Client.ModManagement.UI.ModManagerVM.DeleteMod(IMod p_modMod) at Nexus.Client.Commands.Generic.Command`1.Execute(T p_tArgument) at Nexus.Client.Commands.Generic.CommandBinding`1.Execute() at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) Running Threads (0)The mod i'm trying to uninstall is "Skyrim 2015 Parallax Terrain SPT - Fallforrestdirt Models and textures 1 1 Pfuscher aka Zerwas1" which is not actually listed within the TraceLog at all under "Discovering Game Mode Factories..." or anywhere .. ah.. I see that's the problem. so the problem is that I moved the file from it's original download location, and NMM doesn't give a warning, or simply remove the mod from the list happy that the file is gone already. It should be made clear that adding a mod from a file does not move the zip/7z/rar file that you are adding into the /mod/ dir for you, so you cannot delete/move your download later.my mistake, the original rar file *IS* in \Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\Mods\ it just wasn't named as I expected ("Coastbeach01-61929-.rar" instead of sometihng containing skyrim or 2015 at all as I'd guessed from the mod list, sorry for not double checking before, it's been a couple of days since I installed it) perhaps the crash is because NMM is in c:\legacy\ ?(short for legacy file system as in not virtualised by windows so no admin elevation needed, not trying to say I think it's a legacy app, lol)edit: activating, then deactivating the mod again let me then finally delete it without a crash.
