Adding Corean Hair to Dremora?

I have recently acquired Kikai's Playable Dremora 1.2 and was wanting to make it compatible with Corean Hair and possibly Elaborate Eyes.

See, I'm using the CCR-EE mod, which combines Ren's, Corean, Babe, Elaborate Eyes and some other junk and wanted to make it compatible with this playable Dremora, BUT whenever I add hair in the Constuction Set, they never appear on the race and the Elaborate eyes just do that weird four-eyed googly thing.

I have not messed with any other races and that is the only cosmetic pack I have (I have Roberts and HGEC, but those shouldn't cause conflicts, right?). I have other race mods, but they don't seem to conflict with anything.

Yeah, I sound like a n00b, boo on me. But, I could use some help with this. I am hoping that, when I learn to get CCR-EE to work with this playable Dremora, I can get it to work with a race I am making. So, any help is appreciated.

NOTE: This playable Dremora is a separate race from the in-game NPC Dremora, if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance.

That playable dremora is basically the default dremora made playable, right? Instead of trying to do a bunch of hard work to make the hairstyles show up, why not get rid of that race and your cosmetic pack and replace them both with a cosmetic pack that already has both the hairs and the dremora together in one pack?

If you choose to uninstall your cosmetic pack, be sure to remove all the associated meshes and textures before installing a new one. Another option if you want to keep using the cosmetic pack that you have is to open the .esp, find the dremora race, and place a checkmark in playable. If you make the dremora playable from within the cosmetic pack, it's easier because then you can put the hairs and eyes on it with no problem.

From what you've said it sounds like you're opening the two esp files (the cosmetic pack and the dremora) together and trying to drag the hair/eye choices from the cosmetic pack onto the dremora race. That won't work because the two mods are not literally sharing the same "entries" for hair and eyes. You have to duplicate each hair and eye choice before assigning it to the dremora. This is why I suggested just using the cosmetic pack and making the dremora playable and forgetting the other esp with just the dremora race. You'll end up with fewer .esp files at the end.

By the way, the four-eyed googly thing is a a problem with incompatible eye textures. You have to choose one type of eye and stick with it or you'll have problems, so if the CCR-EE mod was working for you before, that's another reason to get rid of the dremora mod (and associated textures and meshes). It could also be that if the dremora in the CCR-EE mod was originally set to unplayable, the author never switched the eye meshes. You should be able to change which eye meshes the dremoras use in the race box.

If you're concerned with altering the NPC dremoras, you can always duplicate the race and work on the duplicate.

D: I feel like such a n00b. That worked perfectly. I'm still having some problems with some eyes only showing up on the left eye and not the right, but I think I just need to go back and tweak the settings. Besides that It works great. xP I's so stupid.

So, according to what you said, if I were to make a custom race and wanted to use the corean hair or elaborate eyes, I would have to duplicate the meshes and textures and place them in a folder for the race and activate them so that they will not depend on CCR-EE? Hmm.

Thank you for your help! ^_^ Kudos for you!

Don't feel bad. We all start somewhere.

Actually, I'm not suggesting duplicating the meshes and textures. More than one .esp file can share resources provided the game knows where to look for them (ie proper file paths to resources set in the .esp file.

What you duplicate are the entries or references for each hair and eye in the .esp file.

Maybe a visual will help. If you follow the two tutorial links in my signature it should help. The first one covers adding a race into a larger cosmetic mod. You could also use the information to make the hairs and eyes from any given cosmetic pack work with your new race, then you would not have to include the meshes and textures for hairs and eyes in your race mod, but could instead direct people to download the cosmetic pack for those resources.

The second tutorial is about combining armor and weapon mods, but it explains the idea of duplication in more detail.
