kato85
I want to take the Katana from the Mothership Zeta DLC and add a flame effect to it like the Shishkebab. I know that the Shishkebab's flame effect is part of the mesh file somehow. I'm wondering how I can add that same effect to the Katana or if I might be able to recruit someone else to do it for me? Thanks.
kato85
In addition to this if someone can help me with adding the ability to fast-travel to a location that would be appreciated. Thanks
Ghogiel
flame effect is rather straight forward, even to do so from scratch. you need to get familiar with a bit of nif block editing, nif structure, and some animating- ie texture transforms, and lastly how weapon animations are played and controlled (this is only important if you want the vis controller to actually work, ie the flame effect turns off when the weapon is sheathed). basically if you know nothing and don't want to learn actually how to do anything, just do the old copy/paste of a nitristripsdata, and replace the shishkabab weapon model with the katana, then align it all up, set shaders, textures, update Tspace etc in nifskope

A lot of that went over my head actually. I have the GECK (obviously) and have been tinkering around with that for a while, and I'd also downloaded NifSkope but I haven't really been successful in manipulating much of anything. If there are detailed tutorials on using NifSkope that would definitely help I think. Otherwise I made a simpler, alternative change that works but isn't as good as I would have liked.
