volrath77
I've been trying to use DUINV but all I'm getting are these big letters everytime instead of the nice small ones I saw in screenshots. I think I've followed the instructions even the modification to the .ini file as shown on http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1138795-wipzbeta-darnified-ui-nv/page__hl__darnified but I still get those big letters. Where did I do wrong? Do I have to modify the .xml files? If I have to, then this UI (and maybe all related UI mods like Unified HUD) is basically dead to me since I can't do s*** and don't know which parts to modify. If there any fomod made out of this? Also, if there any option once installed that the font type and size can be directly modified within the DUINV interface? Also, I noticed the mention about NVSE. I have the latest FOMM installed. Do I have to install NVSE too? Thanks in advance for any assistance given.

The first one is Fallout_default.ini located in your Fallout New Vegas folder with your .exe. The other two are in your user sub-folder \Users\User Name\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV do the same thing you did with before to FALLOUT.INI and FalloutPrefs.ini

DoctorAdjective
I tried doing what you said, scrivener, but there are two things wrong. 1: When I try to edit FALLOUT.INI, and save it, it asks me what name I want to save it under. When I choose the default, 'Fallout', it says that the file is read-only and I have to try again on a different name.2: Now whenever I try to load up New Vegas, the game crashes. Any ideas on what to do? Edited September 22, 2011 by DoctorAdjective
michel92
Well, try to change it for non-read only. Right-Click it>Properties>General>Read Only (uncheck it). Try to do the modification now.If this doesn't work, try to delete it and open Fallout from steam. Alternatively, you can verify the integrity of the game cache on steam. Sativarg2
[WIPZ/BETA] DarNified UI NV - Smaller, more, PC - DarNified #7 is the last thread I can find concerning this mod. the last functionality I know of can be found on this page:[WIPZ/BETA] DarNified UI NV - Smaller, more, PC - DarNified #7 - Page 9 Any way the last version officialy released as far as I know is DUINV Test version 4 some functionality was added by AlystinAlystin's - Fallout: New Vegas Mods If using the launcher, edit Fallout_default.ini in the game dir to get these settings to stick. The launcher resets the ini to the values from this file. Backup the original first. If you're bypassing the launcher, you can edit Fallout.ini directly: "My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Fallout.ini". Backup the original first. If neither method works, try editing My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\FalloutPrefs.ini instead. This seems to work for some people. AvatarJTC
Look up Gopher on Youtube, he does the Skyrim Mod Sanctuary and the New Vegas Mod Clinic videos. He had a whole series on modding New Vegas, starting with DarnUI. It goes into great detail.
