Hey guys.

I was wondering how i could make a draw distance longer. I have everything on max and my computer isnt breaking a sweat and it would be awesome to pick some guys off from a larger distance, or just to be able to see them.

I tried to change the config files but i didnt notice any difference so if some has done it could they give me a point in the right direction?

Cheers

When you launch the game and the launcher pops up you can change the draw distances in the options dialogue, also you can change them in-game if you go into settings.

Yeah me too. Even when using the FOMM and by passing the graphics defaults and setting it to like 100 I still cannot see far enough I want it to load everything if I'm sitting on a cliff I want to see more than just bland desert when i know there's roads and stuff

Please help there has got to be some way to make it so i can see everything, I understand enemy's wont appear far away unless my perception is up but what about the world like tree's and roads and stuff.

The Perception for enemies is the distance at which their ticks will appear on the compass, not their physical existence. I was experimenting this similar thing with Oblivion and managed to get someone from Weye to load up when I was almost next to the door to the Imperial City. Sadly, my object load didn't work the same way.

you can use this guide: http://segmentnext.com/2010/11/02/fallout-new-vegas-tweak-guide

also, good old tweakguides.com provides some more in-depth tweaking and since NV is based on the same engine as FO3, you'll find almost identical ini entries there:

http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html

just don't forget to backup the files you want to change.

omg thank you so much for this, I'm a little embarrassed to say that I wish I would have taken some more search time to find these tweeks then again I didn't even think to look for tweeks just by using the uGridsToLoad part of the tweeks i can see much farther (i think its that one) its still not as far as i want. I'm currently using uGridsToLoad=11 because uGridsToLoad=15 ctd when loading.
