Does Bethesda's CK/Engine violate OOP Principles?

I keep seeing that Scripts, Mod Assets etc get added to your Save and can corrupt it, eventually destroying a character you may have put many hours into developing.

 

It seems like the proper way to go about saving games would be to separate the "Character" from the "Quests" and "Assets" etc etc

 

Wouldn't it be nice to know that no matter what happened, your "core" character traits would survive.

 

Just "Shower Thoughts" really, I have zero idea what goes into any of this.
