m3lisk
please help. I used big title to catch your attention. I am making a mod, and whenever I go to load a game with it enabled, oblivion crashes. And yes, i checked compatibility with other mods, it was fine. Any help to fix my .esp so my game doesn't crash would be helpful. Just don't know what to do....

Like ones inside a building? Have you tried making a new game with the mod enabled?
GBHis
Bet it's some scripting that - Ehm - vulked up. You've checked for GetSelf's, disables on *some* essential and player characters, lightning?
m3lisk
Yeah it is my Ultimate Ranger mod, but I had added a new tree to the sacred grove, moved the stables, made a fenced in area, moved some trees around, fixed a tree that was 3' in the air, and added a bunch of flora to the sacred grove. I didn't touch scripting tho... The old version that i uploaded works fine though... EDIT: I just tried to start new game, and it worked... but even I wouldn't start a new game just to get the settlement, any suggestions?
Switch
People playing your mod most likely wouldn't have to start a new game to get to the settlement without crashes. It sounds like you tested your mod and then saved your game, then reloaded the save with a later version of the mod. That will quite often cause issues, especially when moving references around. Provided people play your mod with a clean save (e.g. they haven't played any previous versions of the mod with that character and then saved) then there shouldn't be any problems. m3lisk
Thanks Switch. You are right. I checked it out... so i need to tell people NOt to download v0.5, or they won't be able to get final version.
Koreno
Thanks Switch. You are right. I checked it out... so i need to tell people NOt to download v0.5, or they won't be able to get final version. There has to be a way to update mods that are playable by people that have saved games of the previous mod... I mean everytime U get the new version of Growlfs it works fine. I am thinking you can update the mod but you have to keep the same mod date... I believe you can set these dates manually. Meaning that when you get your next version ready to upload, set the edited date to the same as your previous version... This is just a guess. Vagrant0
I believe the main reason why his mod is acting up now is because of adding in all that stuff to an existing cell. I had a similar problem with an eary version of one of my mods. The only way I could solve the problem was by removing the changes. I'm not sure why it causes a crash, but I noticed that as soon as I entered an exterior, or opened my map, the game crashed. I'm thinking that this might be the case here. It could be due to something being stuck inside a new object, or something like a pathgrid node below ground level. Since there is no way to know, all we can do is guess. As for the updating over the same file stuff, I've been doing that for the past month, moving rocks, adjusting positions of stuff, while using a save that is in the same cell as the change, created with earlier versions and accessed many times using later ones. I noticed no problems related to this durring the whole time. Since I was testing various daily routines, I had multiple saves like this, created at specific locations. Aside from the problem mentioned above, I had few problems.
m3lisk
Well, I got it running. Its all done, except there is no NPCs yet. When I get a chance I'm going to add them, then upload a beta version. Then when I get some more time, I'll add quests and other things.
