hungrytoheal
Hi guys I'm having some trouble with Oblivion. If I kill someone in sneak mode, when my eye clearly indicates I am hidden, I STILL get a bounty. I checked my bounty was 0 before I kill someone, but I still get 1000 after killing someone in stealth/sneak mode undetected. Does anyone know why this would happen? Thanks! EDIT: It seems to happen only to guards. Is this normal?
ub3rman123
Yeah, guards automatically give you a bounty. Some problem in the coding, or on purpose. To fix this and the 'Psychic Guards' problem, try installig Reneer's Guard Overhaul.
hungrytoheal
Thanks mate, I'll give it a go.
WeissYohji
It's clear that Bethesda didn't even give a rat's ass when none of their patches fixed the problem with psychic guards. There's always 100% chameleon. Equip the chameleon suit, kill someone, then take it off and you'll never get a bounty on your head.
hungrytoheal
I've never heard of the chameleon suit. What's that?
WeissYohji
I've never heard of the chameleon suit. What's that? Take five random pieces of armor or clothing (Doesn't matter what they are) and five grand soul gems filled to capacity. Go to an enchanting altar and enchant them each with 20% chameleon. Then equip them all at once and you'll be completely invisible. You can rob a whole city blind with this on or even go on a total killing spree through all of Cyrodiil if you wanted to and never get a bounty on your head! The AI doesn't know how to handle it. (NPCs are coded so they can't intentionally attack the player no matter what.) Alternatively, you can just use four pieces of clothing enchanted with 25% or 30% chameleon. (It's an option on the second-best and best sigil stones.)
hungrytoheal
Okay thanks mate! REP+
Beerto
You can also find Chamelion clothes around cyrodiil - I managed to get 100% chamelion without the usage of enchanting or mods. There are a few chameleon items that are not random, but apart from that, you'll find a few chameleon random armor/clothing/amulets/rings if you go through some dungeons. Ring of the Khajiiti is definetly a ring you should get, google it for more info. The items that increase your chameleon percentage are often named (Something) of Shadows, or Chameleon (Something). Hoped this helped you, if you'd rather do it the non-enchant way.
hungrytoheal
Thanks for that mate, I'll consider that method before trying to enchant
