iris030380
I have seen all these amazing ENB but my question is, how do I try a different one? I am currently using the Phinix Natural ENB and am having some major issues with CTD's (see my other thread in this section of the forum). My question is - how do I try a different ENB? I would like to take a look at some others, and maybe changing my ENB will fix this CTD issue I am having at the same time. PS. Never modded a game before today, total noob. Trying to learn though! :D
newzilla7
If you find another ENB you would like (I might recommend PureVision), you can copy the files for the new preset, e.g. PureVision's enblocal.ini, enbseries.ini, etc, into your Skyrim folder and overwrite Phinix ENBs files. If you wish to delete an ENB you have installed so you don't have any ENB anymore, you should delete: enbseries Folderd3d9.dll (ONLY FROM THE SKYRIM FOLDER)enbbloom.fxenbeffect.fxenbeffectprepass.fxenbhost.exeenblens.fxenblensmask.pngenblocal.inienbseries.ini You may not have every single one of these files, but if you delete the ones you do have you will remove the ENB. iris030380
Thankyou, that is a lot simpler than I thought. I downloaded the Realvision ENB installer and used nexus mod manager to install it. I chose the full version and the fantasy lighting. The indoor areas are a lot brighter than Phinix ENB, and I can see little difference outdoors but I have only checked one area. As a side note, after installing the new ENB I didn't get a crash to desktop for almost an hour! Then I looted a dead body and it threw me back to desktop. I honestly thought I had solved my problem. Ah well ... guess not :/ Thanks for the help though.
Vudou
ENBs are not likely to be the cause of a crash unless your computer just can't handle it. You probably have mods conflicting with each other. Or... it could just be a normal Skyrim crash. Skyrim is unstable even as vanilla. If you have no ENB and no mods, just complete vanilla Skyrim it's still likely to CTD randomly here and there. Less likely though. Maybe once a day in a full day of game playing. You would have to learn to use TES5Edit if you want to figure out what mods are conflicting with each other yourself. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859 Edited February 6, 2015 by Baibaihe

If I had more time, I would love to try to understand how everything works. The game is so much more beautiful now. As a vehemnt Morrowind fan, I did try Skyrim on release, but seemed to just lose all interest after a few weeks. I took a break, and it never drew me back in. Finding these mods has breathed life into the game and compelled me to try a second time. Hopefully I will be able to sort this problem out and enjoy the game. I'll keep everyone posted.
