Judging by multiple sources the psp2 is rumoured to be more or as "Powerful" then the xbox 360, Holy crap i say.. If this is true its a must buy. Release date is expected to be next year, 2011.

Also the devs are already making games for the thing, and they claim it to be insanely powerful for a hand held, 60fps "rumoured".

Are you excited about it, i am for sure. If this is for real i am buying this instead of a 3ds  .

An Apple iPad has a 1 GHz processor that is a system on a chip, that is it has 256 MB of RAM and a decent GPU to boot powerful enough to play games. While I doubt the PSP2 will be able to match the xbox's 3.2 GHz triple core, it is very believable that it will have twice the ram (and btw, the xbox cpu, the IBM Xenon, is a triple core RISC processor with multiple threads; it has six processing threads).

Long story short:

Rival the xbox in processing power? bullcrap

Have 1GB of ram, believable.

No UMD support: smart move on Sony's part.

Hey i take it as i here it, if they pull it off i would be shocked and amazed, I hope its true. Unless they have a mini cell broadband engine in the making  .

More rumours suggest that it might be using the mini blu ray drives, 15gb a piece.

The only version i could find is the mac version.

I'm not sure what the bloke at Kotaku has been smoking but adding RAM will not make it "Rival Xbox 360 In Horsepower", the cleaner must of wrote that article when the staff weren't looking. My HTC phone has more RAM than the 360, it sure as hell is not more powerful. Anyway the battery wouldn't last 5 mins and you couldn't cool it. I'm wondering if this is the rumoured Android 3.0 phone from Sony Ericsson, that is said to be a gaming device and the Android 3.0 min specs would mean any device using it should be capable of gaming. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/sony/7943262/Sony-gaming-phone-rumours-re-emerge.html

The plot thickens, it appears Sony are going to release two devices, the PSP2 and the Xperia Play. Surely it would make more sense to add a phone to the PSP2 rather than competing with yourself with two products?
