Can this laptop run any mods with no problem?

Well I thought when I bought my old laptop that a gtx 670mx would be good enough but turns out it isn't. Can't run great graphics mods like realvision and other mods. I've had it for a while and it's done good but I thought about how with eventually a new bethesda game coming out, plus other games, which will have even better graphics and mods, it's prob time for a better pc. My question is, will this laptop run basically any mod and graphics setup? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-gt72-dominator-405-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-1tb-hdd-128gb-solid-state-drive-aluminum-black/9855351.p?id=1219441206162&skuId=9855351

If not can someone direct me to some computers that can. I'm not real experienced in buying gaming pcs, I have had one for about 2 years and am typically a Mac person. Realistically will I find what I want in a laptop for under maybe $2.5k or should I look into a desktop?

If you can drop that kind of money, I would invest it in a custom Gaming PC. For that kind of money you can get something vastly superior to any gaming laptop on the market.

Alright. Think I should go for desktop or laptop?

I think you should go for a desktop, in the long run they are much more powerful and cost efficient. Plus, they can easily be upgraded if you ever wanted to improve it, you can't really do that with laptops.

For instance, for pretty well the same price as the laptop you had picked out you can get a desktop like this:

CPU: i7-4820K

Memory: 16GB of RAM (expandable up to 128GB)

HDD: 2TB

SSD: 120GB

GPU: GTX 770

Is the gtx 770 better than 970?

Nope. Just bear in mind that gtx 970 uses properly only 3.5gb of it's vram.

That laptop uses the GTX 970M (which is different than the GTX 970), so the 770 was pretty well destined to be better.
