What Skyrim needs: Banks, Brothels, Boats and Gold Sinks

Good point openworld addict.

Though the Oblivion option is nice, I still like the idea of having branch buildings in the major cities.

Arenas? As in fighting arenas?

Or are these prostitution arenas? Or arenas with fighting prostitutes?

Either way, nifty ideas, though I still would like that a mainstream brothel.

But now that I think of it, I remember a game from aeons ago called Quest for Glory 5. In this game, not only could compete, but also bet on other competitors, on your own self, and gain or lose money that way, in nightly tests of strength at the city arena.

Sounds like a welcome addition.

Not to mention, yet again, that even this game had a bank!

There is also Herijarchen Farm and Windstadd Mine, two build-it-yourself business mods. I believe you do have staff that have wages to pay in those mods.

Those are just some ideas.

Good job mentioning these. I've looked them up.

Maybe this could add some inspiration for that brothel mod too? Quo Vagis did something similar.

I meant fighting arenas, like the one you had in the Imperial city.

I also would like to a library mod that can load you books to read, and have there be a library in each of the major cities.

Also a proper romance and family mod could be a money sick for your character.

For inns, there is room rental overhaul.

For travel, there better fast travel. Another great mod.

And there is so many mods for business around, but I never tested any yet. I want to play with the cider one later on however.

I think it would better to have one bank. To make things harder and make you have a reason to visit other cities. Also it will be harder to get more money that easy. Whiterun is the one city that makes sense for this, as a trading center of skyrim. The other places seems very unlikely to have one.

There is also about three arena mods. Windhelm pit has the same redgaurd guy :3

Another good idea for a money sink.

Used it, didn't like it for a number of reasons. And how is this one relevant exactly? You seem to speaking obliviously to what my actual request is.

Nice, but this doesn't replace not having boats.

So was Morrowind. Besides, do you know how many Western Unions there are in the world, even in the most remote of places?

This is true, there is pit fighter, not to mention Helgen Reborn.

It enables you to rent rooms for endless date "apartment." so to speak with the proper things a player needs. It a great money sink for some role plays.

Nice, but this doesn't replace not having boats.

It for realistic pricing, and it adds some boats for fast travel.

I'm not that knowledgeable in things like banking and unions and how they work in depth. But Yes, I know there are many branches around the world.

But imo having a bank in riverwood or a place having many dangers seems like a bad investment in general. Riften seems like a nightmare for bankers in exact XD we are talking about dragons and swords. Where banks are made of wood, not out of cement and vaults of unbreakable steel, but one nordic lock.

Wouldn't a bank be more suited in a well forfeited, living and thriving city? Where the money moves the most:

Solitude, as a good port with the all the shipping.

Whiterun for lore. God, the market in the imperial city was much better. But whiterun npcs are more likable at least.

Makarth, because of the treasury and sliver.

Windhelm, for it was a major city once and it the oldest. Can be the base for the main bank branch.

Winterhold, a small branch maybe. Spell tomes costs a ton.

Right, that's what I meant. I wasn't suggesting that they put in every backwater town, but that there are at least be branches in the main cities.

Yes, these are all good ideas.

I remember using it and it had a number issues that made me remove it finally.

Ultimately, a good and well written brothel could be a great gold sink. Just sit and imagine what kind of things you would do with more money than sense.

It for realistic pricing, and it adds some boats for fast travel.

Not the real time feature though, which I think would do the game a lot of good.

I think he was referring to my comment about Homes for Rent as a money sink.

Room rental overhaul is not a good mod. I don't like the fact that expands the inns and it conflicts with other mods. An inn is some place that you pay for the night and then go, and if you want to come back and pay for the next night, you can do so. It does not makes sense to rent a room for several nights to use as a player home, an inn is not a hotel.

What I mean by Homes for rent is having an actual apartment/tenement building where you have to pay rent every month (not just every few days)

I've used better fast travel before, but that mod just became to buggy.

It doesn't make sense for their to be banks in every town, village, or city. However, all the major cities (Markarth, Riften, Solitude, Windhelm, and Whiterun) should have one. It doesn't matter if it's lore friendly or not, we want it for convenience sake. I want to be able to withdraw money in Windhelm so that I can stay at the Candlehearth Inn with money I deposited in Whiterun weeks before. As I said, for convenience sake.

Edit: By the way, I just noticed you mentioned Realistic Needs and Diseases as a money sink, well in that case other survival/hardcore mods can be money sinks as well, such as:

Frostfall (requiring tents and cloaks other things)

Loot and Degredation (requiring constant repair of your equipment)

Battle Fatigue and injuries (requiring bandages to recover from injury)

There may be more as well.
