handwran
So I have been having some really weird lag on skyrim, I started a new game, and when I get close to riverwood, my fps goes from 70-80 to around 1-2. I've tried most of my settings options, and have looked extensively through the internet for fixes, but to no avail. I have around 100 mods, but I don't think thats the problem since when I uninstalled them and played a vanilla game, the same problem arises. Also I have updated my drivers, but it didnt work. Please help I'm open to pretty much anything right now. Here are my PC specs: GeForce GTX 660AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor8 GB Ram I'll try to respond to posts within the day.Thank You. saurusmaximus
Ok, just to clarify, you removed ALL of your mods and started a new game and the problem persisted, correct? Are you using an ENB? Did you make any skyrim.ini changes? Are you running any high-res texture mods, lush grass/flora mods?

Are you running any high-res texture mods, lush grass/flora mods?Yes that is correct, and I did not have an enb at the time, however since then I have installed and uninstalled several enbs, also with graphics mods, I have several, including one of the flora overhauls and the 2k textures. I have a high mod load (100-200 mods) so that might be it. Also an update. I am able to play, but there is still the weird lag, it is just around towns or clusters of buildings. Pretty much anytime I get near a house. Ruins do not seem to trigger this though. Also to be more descriptive about the problem occuring, I am pretty sure it is some sort of lag, since the game screen will freeze for about half a second in anywhere from 1/4 to 3 second intervals. How short the intervals between the "freezed frame" seem to depend on how big of an area I am in. Also it happens in some towns like riften but not in whiterun. handwran
also I have changed the .ini file from time to time, but that was because it was needed for a mod, not because I was screwing around with it.
vlaka
you don't want the game to run higher than 60fps so i'd look at capping it. Also based on the fps limit you impose might want to add ifpsclamp=60 (if limiting to 60 fps)to your skyrim.ini in [Display] section.Grab ssme/skse 1.7.2 with the memory block thingo and ENBOOST. handwran
well sadly that didn't seem to work, but some new information for ya, it seems to crash now after reaching the peak of its lag. For example, if I am using a flying mod, it will start to lag in certain areas, and then crash. BTW a big thank you to everyone who has responded, I really appreciate it. Even if your solutions don't end up fixing my problem, it may help other people who read this feed with their's. I'll try to respond to answers withing 1-2 days.
