Pulling Base ID

Recommended Posts

Aight, i did some searching around here and via google. YES i know thier are a lot of ways to pull the base ID (most of which i dont seem to grasp all to well). I just want to know if thier is a way (if so please direct me or tell me) to pull the base ID so I can placeatme or some other function via console in game. For example in skyrim all i had to do was type help (part or all of the words) and i get this heck of a list to read and work with accordingly. I dont get that with fallout.

Open the console, select an object by clicking on it, then type "GBO" (Get Base Object) and it should give you the base ID.

It's a FOSE command though, so you must have started the game through FOSE in order for the GBO command to work.

How about if the item or object is no where to be seen such as cut content or an item from a mod that was never used? Heck even an item that doesnt spawn all to often.

You can get the base ID of anything that is in the game or mod files by using FO3Edit.

It sounds like i have no choice but to find those IDs outside the game...aight if i have to. How about some instructions so i dont err mess up anything. I aint exactly tech friendly. I already found the editor but havent downloaded it.

Get the training manual: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/8629/?

Read it before you install FO3Edit. When you are ready to use FO3Edit, open both the manual and FO3Edit. That way you can read the instructions and work at the same time.

Loading stopped when the error was encountered. The error must be fixed before the loading will complete. FO3 Wanderers Edition requires both CRAFT and CALIBR to be installed in the game.

When you open FO3Edit, do you get a small window that lists all the files installed with a check mark in the box to the left of the file name?

Yes, lemmie grab a screenie. Iv never seen these .esp files before other then in the description and mabeh a few talk pages. Are these other mods? Cause ive seen how some require each other to function properly.

Edit: Yesterday i was on the chat and one of the members said I may have to uninstall wanderers mod and try to download it again (and make sure I do it right the first time). I know that isnt as simple as it was on steam where you just click unsubscribe and boom its gone without any worry. If i have to I will prolly ask for some steps for that to. Iv added a list of mods that i currently have. Feel free to comment on that as well. Oh and the one with the red X wont accept archive invalidation so it never functions as far as i know. Yes the archive invalidation is checked and should be functioning. But it wasnt on when i first downloaded that one nor the Fellout mod but the Fellout mod seems to be working just fine.
