Dialogue Problem

:o Is there a bug in my construction set?! I try to make new topics in dialogs, but NPC's don't have them. I only make "same race" , speaker is elf (new race), I am also elf, but there's no topic!

When I delete topics from one certain NPC, ALL topics are deleted from ALL NPC's.

Yes, if you delete a topic, you delete it for everyone. If you want your NPC not to have the standard Morrowind dialogue you could try attaching the nolore script to the NPC.

 

Once you have made a new topic with a dialogue response for your NPC you need to introduce it. The topic will not appear in an NPC's dialogue box until the NPC knows about it.

To introduce a topic use the 'AddTopic' function in the results box of either the NPCs greeting, or one of the standard topics (if your NPC has those).

 

For instance, to introduce the topic 'my first topic' to your NPC make a greeting which is specific to your NPC, or your new faction, eg. 'Hello, %PCName.' In the results field for that greeting, type:

 

AddTopic "my first topic"

 

 

Once the topic has been added for the first time all NPCs with a response for that topic will have it appear in their list.

The NoLore script initializes the variable NoLore for the NPC that the script is running on. Certain dialogue topics, such as "Little Advice" and "Latest Rumours" only display given that NoLore hasn't been initialized. Therefore, if you have a NoLore script running on any NPC, said NPC won't show lore topics in the dialogue menu.

 

EDIT: Wow, this is getting confusing... Perhaps the forum should have a "no undeclared post edits after additional replies in a thread" rule...
