LadyMilla
Some mods use WinRAR, some other mods use 7-zip. You can get 7-zip for free while WinRAR is shareware (after 30 days you have to buy it or remove it). 7-zip can open RAR files.
bben46
Not only is 7-zip absolutely FREE, It's available right here at the Nexushttp://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579 It will work with rar, zip, and of course 7z files as well as many other compressed file formats
pretzdothack
A problem I notice with 7zip though is that it can sometimes mess up decompression rates. Not often, but enough for me to notice it.
FrogDemon
WinRar is actually free. You can use it forever for free. It will also stay fully functional after the 90days. I have been running it for several years. If you pay for it it just removes the words that say (evaluation copy). So no worries, use it forever. Also, WinRar will open and create 7zip archives. Well, it's technically illegal to use it like that with no intent to pay for it. I'd use 7-zip more if I could figure out how to make it the default program for .zip files. laochra
7-zip is good, but do you not need win 7 for it?
