Correct. It isn't a flag.

Your time of day and the overcast seems to rule out the constellation Ursa Major being visible. 2 pm shouldn't be dark in the northern hemisphere this time of year and Ursa Major isn't visible from the southern hemisphere, besides any problems overcast might cause. I suppose you could be flying at high altitude and hence above the overcast and blue sky brightness but that doesn't seem too likely a location to be posting to the forum ;-).

Google does find a yacht MV Ursa Major which is presumably based in Alaska. (Although they also do Sea of Cortez cruises so could be California.)

Firstly, welcome back, although I never knew you before.

I think Malchik's avvy is a Frost Atronach (with a beard:D)

Your riddle has me intrigued: If you're in some kind of vehicle, I would say it's a spaceship. How else could you see a constellation at 2pm, with overcast skies? Failing that, the vehicle could be a rollercoaster, say, the Big Dipper (an asterism within Ursa Major.) If the meaning of Ursa Major is so important, then "Great(er) Bear" would mean that you are in a 4x4 in Yellowstone Park!

Nearly there...
