Anyone know why my Fallout GOTY keeps crashing when I start NEW game. Have changed config file and all other windows related issues I believe. Not sure what to do next.

Did you ever have the game running?

How to ask for help: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1592053-how-to-ask-for-help/

I get to the start menu showing NEW, Options, Live, etc. But never into the actual game itself. When I click NEW it loads about half way then crashes.

Based on the shear lack of provided information here, I can assume that anchorage is loading up first.

No load up information ? raw install and no tools listed as used<--- that gives only this as a source of probable cause..and is repeatable.

So, install Fomm. sort the data OR manually make the adjustment by hand to the plugin.txt file and set it to read only to force the game to load the data for the game as the game requires it to be loaded.

Windows has areal bad habit of alphabetically loading files, this problem needs to be over rode.

This problem will always cause this bug....some players get lucky and don't suffer from it, I know from the saved game files shared here and extracted data from those indicates that luck.

fallout 3.esm must always load first...But you installed the GOTY edition so I know you will have this problem.

C:\users\(username)\apps\fallout3\plugin.txt <---- that needs to be edited if you do not have any tools yet installed or responding because there is no ini file yet created because you can't load the game because you can't run the

game.

Nasty, mean ,and untold "unknowns".

That is what I read from this post.
