so ive been trying for a while now to add new meshes into the game. for a while they plain out were not showing up in the Geck, but using the old past over TriStripData solved that for a few things.

 

now im actually trying to get a weapon in the game to replace the Service rifle. i exported my copy from Nif, and copied over the TriStripData to the service rifle, i ended up having to tweak some translations for the tristrips and for the sighting node (this i think is where things may have screwed up). i saved it and went to replace the model for the Service rifle in the Geck, and it crashed. does anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm, I assume you already did the trivial stuff like sanitize it in NifSkope first. Used to be easy to crash the game with a funky .nif, but that took care of most such stuff for me.

no i didnt, (save update tangent space....after the first crash) then again ive never had to in the first place. i will try it though.

Nifs are nice when the transfer goes smoothly but yes, if something doesnt it is a pita to track. i figured id try again from scratch after work. if it is still giving me problems i will post a screencap. thanks guys.
