operatics
Hi guys, Apologies if this question is inane--I've only been working with the CK for four days. I've been watching tutorials and working in my own custom player house inside a cave. None of the tutorials I've seen address this issue: I like that caves feel very rough, but in certain areas of the home I really need some flat surface floors without any lumps. Is there a way to completely flatten cave floors? I'm putting down some furs and carpets, but it looks terrible when the cave floor has parts that stick out through the meshes. Thank you for taking the time to help a noobie!
jayne2132
You can use any floors you want -- pick a flat floor you like and use it in the cave. It may not snap to the walls, but it'll work. To flatten the actual cave floor mesh would require Nifskope and a 3d program like Blender. I suppose you could try applying the cave floor texture to a flat floor tile mesh in Nifskope, but no guarantees that the UV mapping would work. Wolvenna
I like to use the "flooring" that's used with the scaffolding in the mines. If you pull it down really close to the ground you can snap several pieces together to create a nice flat area. The best part though is that it can blend in really nicely with the rest of the cave and looks like it belongs. I believe that's what they did in places like Movarth's Lair (the vampire cave in Morthal). I'd have to double check to be sure, but they have a dining area with a table in the middle of the cave and I'm like 90% sure that it's sitting on a platform made from scaffolding pieces.
