Abramul
My stupidest moment isn't to do with the actual game but what happened to mine. I just set up my xbox 360 it was a bit squint, and when I was halfway through a quest a message appeared saying, make your your disc isn't dirty or damaged, then the game stopped. I took the disc it to have a look at it and it had a huge scratch right the way around the disc. Now I need to buy another copy of Oblivion. :dry:Not necessarily. Not sure how one would go about it in the UK, but as long as you still have the damaged disc, you can probably get a a replacement for a fraction of the cost. Switch
I sincerely doubt we have that sort of customer service in the UK... when I heard you could do that before in the US, it sounded very alien to me. :P Might work, I suppose. More likely you'd be laughed out of the store methinks. ;) So the 360 was only a little off-balance and it did that scraping thing? What a piece of rubbish. I saw a video of it doing that to a disk before but that was only after someone turned it on its side and put it upright again...

Guest
Two stupid moments cuminating in one wiped out char. When I was researcing Oblivion for ways to not overwelm my comp I came across a post that said to save space always overwrite your saves. I didn't think anything of it while I was leveling, but then I jumping into a pit in a dungeon to kill a mob, and realized not only did I not have room to fill him with arrows, but I was also gettting pummeled. When my potions ran out, I though hey I will save, and try to maneuver out of this pickle a little at a time, while reloading. Imagine my horror when I realize my save is right in the middle of the kill shot. It gets better... since I was overwriting my saves I went from level 16 to level 3. Talk about the anti-pwr-lvl. So how did I respond... Bought a new comp with more memory, lol. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, well I am an idiot either way
westride
I have a couple. I was playing a character that I didn't want to mod with and was doing some DB quests (Purification). I was placing poisened apples around to kill some DB members when I accidentally ate one of them. Sucks that it lasts forever even with God Mode on. Everybody knows the horses in Oblivion all look the same. You see a black horse it looks just like Shadomere. So, I saw a paint horse in front of me when I got out of a city and thought it was Prior Maborel's horse. Nope, just a paint horse. Got on it and was fined for that. Had no money so I was killed by a quest gaurd.
Rhydderch Hael
Took a character out for a cruise on the Bloated Float yesterday, a brand-new one (I mean, the nap she took to initiate the quest was her transition from Level 1 to Level 2). Needless to say, her Fatigue wasn't all that up to snuff, and facing Selene with her Blackwater Blade ended badly with my character dropping away in a dead faint every time she swung that sword. My character wasn't actually in any danger of getting killed (Level 2 while wearing a full suite of Leather Armor? Bah! The mudcrabs near Vilverin were scarier!) but every time she found her feet again, it was time to get knocked down once more. In retrospect, I should have convinced Selene to surrender rather than fight. That, or I should have boiled up a few Restore Fatigue potions from the food within the tavern deck of the ship... poda05
This isn't my stupidest but this is something I can remember... A few days ago I was playing a newer character. I went to a fort (I can't remember the name) but it's one with a few bridges, a goblin chef, and some goblins and marauders fighting in a locked room. At the end of the fort theres a goblin throne... Being as cool as I am i sit in it without looking up first-ball and chain right in the face. *pain* You know those traps where the ground has blood on it in a ruin and then the floor goes up when u walk on it? Well, the first time i saw one of those, I had a feeling it was a trap. What did i do? I decided to run right up to the blood and look... woosh :glare:

poda05
Oh I just remembered what I think to be my First stupid moment. It was when I first got the game. I was exploring a building. I want to say it was Castle Leyawiin, but I'm not completely sure. I didn't know that I would be killed for walking in rooms I wasnt supposed to. I was just minding my own business walking someplace I wasn't supposed to, and some crazy person runs up to me with a dagger and tries to kill me... She died... The DB visited me soon after that... He died too. This was before I learned how great it was to be in the DB on another character.
IamBatosai
I don't play Oblivion much but in Morrowind my dumbest moment. I was running around killing stuff to gain levels (I was level 2), I saved in the middle of nowhere. I also had my speakers unplugged (I forgot to plug them in when I set up my computer. ). When I finished saving, I turn around to see 3 Dremora chasing me, they kill me in about 2 seconds. I load up again and I die AGAIN. Repeat this a couple times. I then learned about the console that night. Curses.
