How to select and move vertices in Nifscope?

Hi Nexus,

I am doing some slight mesh modifications at the moment, but as shapes become more complex , it gets really painfull to adjust the vertices one by one via the coordinate system. Is there a way to select single vertices in the render window and move them with the mouse? Thank you for any input you might have.

Regards.

PS: Incase it is not clear enough. This is not about how to move diffrent meshes and batch them together. This is simply being one mesh and i want to move the vertices via the render window instead of having to type in an endless stream of numbers. ;)

There is no graphical way to change the vertices in the Nifskope. You are able to manipulate the vertex list in the NiTriStrips Data list under Vertices. When you pop open the list they all become highlighted and changing the values will obviously affect the vertex but there is no way to know the ordering of the list except through trial and error. The nifskope was not designed to do this so I suggest using a 3d modelling program such as blender as its free or else a trial of maya or 3ds max. Edited by abominalmonkey

Considering its on top of search for '' how to unlock vertices in nifscope'' maybe someone knows how to do it and if it's even possible? I have problems with 3ds max export so I just want use nifscope for minor edits, but not all of the models allow to do that.

Answered in the previous post of 23 November 2010. Also, since this thread is over 8 years old, you should have started a new thread. This is explained in the Terms and Policies of the site. There is a link to them at the top of this and every page on the Nexus.

I do it manually. Click on the vertex you want to change, and NifSkope will go to and highlight that vertex. Double-click the vertex to edit it. Then you can manually change any of its XYZ values. If you don't like your change, hit CTL-Z to undo it.

Thanks for reply, but I have already edited a lot of models that way, apparently some of the models DO NOT ALLOW TO EDIT them, changing value simply did nothing (vertices don't move at all). So the question still - HOW TO UNLOCK THEM? and IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE through nifscope?
