Malchik
About the hair cut thing, well you could just shave your head like I do, it only costs about 30 bucks for the hair trimmer and it pays for itself after the first two uses. I missed this before. In my job total freedom of expression (of appearance) is considered eccentric. It would cost me far more than the UK equivalent of 30 bucks. Like no work, man! Mind you, I foresee a time when I have no hair to cut (hopefully not for a while yet). Then I might regret the earlier wish.

ThetaOrionis01
Perhaps you should wish for some more tolerance instead <_<
Adrian Laguna
I agree with Theta Orionis, more tolerance would certanly solve many problems. Including but not limited to: street violence, attempts at genocide, terrorism, and a lot of other things I can't think of right now. Let's all wish for tolerance! :) (While I wish to rule the world)
Kethruch
Tolerance is a start - but all tolerance is is saying "I don't like you but I won't do anything about it." This can lead to all kinds of problems from internalizing hatreds. What we need is not tolerance, but acceptance. We all need to accept that others are different, and that they are just as important to the mesh of the world as we are. Finally, if we do ever achieve Acceptance, we can move on to Understanding and Love, where we truly know others and can understand their needs as well as them understanding ours. It's just easier to always look at things as black and white, us and them, rather than seeing the various shades of grey. You actually have to work to see the greys, and learn more about 'them'. With learning comes understanding. If you take the time and learn to see the greys, you can actually see that us and them are a lot more alike than different, and that we are all "us". Oh, and by the way, yes, I did grow up in the sixties (though I was young).
Malchik
I partly agree with Kethruch. The word tolerance is very patronising. However I'm not sure if acceptance can come before understanding. I'd have thought it was the other way round. I have a saying 'true forgiveness can only come with understanding and with true understanding forgiveness is inevitable'. Yes, of course it is debatable but I believe it has an underlying truth. If this world is going to survive we are all going to have to start learning forgiveness and that means we are going to have to start understanding. My only fear is that no one can be bothered to make the time to do it!
