Xbox 360 or PC

Here I'll make a list of the bonuses and penalities:

PC:

Bonuses: Mods, cheats, easier to play, can have unofficial patches

Penalities: Slower, graphics aren't that enjoyable, easier to mess up with your game, takes much space (depends on how many mods you have)

Xbox:

Bonuses: Very enjoyable graphics, big screen (at least bigger than PC), takes no space (except the saves), healthier fro your eyes ( :P), easier to feel the game than PC

Penalities: No cheats, no mods, no unofficial patches, you must pay for the addons (in PC, you can get most of the addons in Knights of the Nine), it's much more "brighter", harder to create beautiful characters.

Well, saying this short: The PC can make your game more realistic or crazier (depends on how you like it), but you can't really "enter" the world of Tamriel.

The Xbox is a bit different talking about the graphics, now that they seem much more brighter. but you can enjoy your game much faster, and the environment there is much more natural than on PC.

BUT REMEMBER: You can also connect your PC to Xbox360.

So I do recommend you to play it on PC, and if you're tired of having a small screen, you can connect it to the Xbox.

Hope it helps,

Birrii

Wait a second. The PC cranks out better graphics than the X360 version, if I'm not mistaken. The X360 doesn't have the PC's capabilities.

I originally had Oblivion on the 360 and played it so much the Xbox burnt a scar in the disk with the reading laser (yeah I really like Oblivion) and when I was browsing for other stuff to do in Oblivion I stumbled upon this site and spent 2 hours looking at all the mods and really wanting them for my game so the next week I spent about $2000 on a custom top of the line gaming pc and bought Oblivion GOTY for it and as far as all this talk about 360 having better graphics and PC being choppy...........it depends on your system................on my pc I have everything on very high and I have multiple mods that increase the resolution of all the game textures and the 360 version looks like an Atari game compared to this and it still runs at about 35-40fps so if you got the money for it Oblivion is way better on the PC hands down no arguement

it happens that i have both a pc and xbox360,and i have oblivion on both.

so,i have the right to make a comparison.

i first played the 360 version, and i now play the pc one.

both versions have good and bad points.

Lets start with the xbox's differencies.

XBOX360

+.You can play the game with maximum graphics, without have to have stress if your hardware can play it or not.

+The game on xbox360 never crashes.

- Yoy can't add mods and expansions.<i bought the shivering isles witch is an official expansion, but it never played on the xbox360.At Bethesda's site says that it had problems, and they say some tweak hints that suppose to fix it,but even if you do what they say,the expansion doesn't play.I gave 25 euros for nothin'>

- Oblivion is a game that uses too much power, and causes heavy heating. If you got a pc,adding aftermarket cooler at your cpu and more case fans will fix the problem.

But an Xbox360 you can't do that.

I damaged my xbox while playing Oblivion because of overheating, and i had to wait a month to take back a new console from the service.

PC

+ Game improvements including Better sky, blood at your sword when you slash something <xbox didn't had any blood>.

+ You can use unofficial mods, and the expansions work as they supposed to do.

+ If you have a high end pc with the latest technology, you can have much more better graphics.

+ The game is much cheaper at pc.The GOTY edition for pc costs less than the half than the xbox360's edition.

+ Beacause of the structure of pc's hard discs, loading times are shorter even with a proccesor much more slower than xbox360's

- There are lots of bugs, and the game sometimes crashes

- If you have an old pc you can't play it at beautiful graphics

Hope i helped

I disagree with these two points. I find the 360 version just as much the unstable crack addicted baby as the PC version (on a side note, the PS3 seems to be fine - yes I have all 3 versions :P )

And the PC game doesn't sometimes crash... it always crashes (for me, always when I quit - makes changing settings hell - but my flatmate gets it after 3 hours playing, always). Albeit, it could just be bad luck there.

PC, I'd have to drop a few savings to go out and buy a 360 and set it up to the monitor I currently use for gaming and TV. Also I perfer my modded set up on my comp to the genneric format on the 360. I tried the out of the box set up for a week when I remebered the reason the game got rated M was not because of the blood and guts.

Pc version (especially with Qarl's pack) looks and plays vastly better than the 360 version providing you have the hardware to run it, and I happen too.

My Flatmate has oblivion on his 360, he came into my study and set up his xbox next to my PC and we ran a little comparision.

One of his quote's

"oh, man. My game looks like its being played on a Comodore 64 In comparison....."
