consider shopping at Direct2drive.com for alternate source

I would stay away from D2D. as they have their own proprietary protection that isn't always compatible with mods. The disk versions are available as Knights of the Nine expansion and Shivering Isles expansion - look on Amazon, ebay and at local stores for prices. Unfortunately there is one DLC that is not available on disk. "The Fighters Stronghold' AKA Battlehorn castle.

Or, online from the Beth store: https://orders.bethsoft.com/dlc/ actually very Inexpensive - most DLCs are US $ 1.89 - However Shivering Isles is not available there.

My copy of SI was D2D. Oops. No issues yet though.

If I remember correctly you are the one with OBSE problems? Well this would most likely explain it, since OBSE does not work with Direct2Drive versions of Oblivion.

However OBSE will work with the STEAM version. If you're going to by a digital version of Oblivion the STEAM version is the only would you should consider. For about $25 USD you can get the GOTY Deluxe, which includes everything you need.

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't know if the steam version has securom or not, but securom is on the DVD version and everything works with that.

Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) - Yes,

Construction Set (CS) - yes

Wrye Bash - yes.

Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE )Yes (even though you didn't ask)

You can do any modding with the Steam version that you can do with the DVD version.
