I agree, we should hit this subject from both directions, which is why i uploaded that second poster picture, but it would probably be better as a seperate mod, one where you become a brotherhood member and work your way through the ranks,

 

This would probably require a new branch of the brotherhood in the area (since the current one is not sending out anyone or accepting recruits)

 

Maybe a Exiled Brotherhood or something (not outcasts since THEY were the actual brotherhood followers, and everyone else were the real exiles)

or the chicago (Fallout tactics) brotherhood branch with there special unique armors, to distinguish the two BoS types.

 

Quests would involve fighting enclave plots and subterfuge, as well as hunting tech and investigating ruins.

 

The new brotherhood would be more humanitarian then the vanilla one if you've played tactics, also they'd be more advanced in robotics.

 

There are many suggestions that players would like to see more job and promotion systems in fallout, as well as NPCs with professions and schedules of thier own

This is merely a rough idea feel free to use any ideas and materials (with original creators permission) you can find, I'm not making any mods, I leave that up to the veteren modders and scriptors out there.

Personally i love the idea as i feel the brotherhood really got a bit short in NV - not as short as the enclave but still their role in NV pretty much sucked. I already thought about making an extended brotherhood mod but it's a bit harder to implement as they are already in the game (The old "you need to dub all audio again if you edit existing NPCs" problem) and currently my queue is too full to really start something else. There's some stuff that really qualifies for being used in such a mod like the abandoned BOS bunker. Also the script for the Helios power plant mission is a bit murky - it was obviously originally meant to be re-occupied by BOS but it's a bit glitched and depends too much on talk with the followers guy.

On the topic, I found the that if you watch the (an) ending of Fallout tactics, you can see its the begining of a new rival brotherhood, intent on spreading through the wasteland like then enclave, only they are allies with quote "Super Mutants, Ghouls, and Deathclaws" working to a united region.

I like the idea. I have a couple of suggestions

First of all having BoS quest to sabotage/destroy Enclave and the other way around.

Maybe have an ability to convince the two of either NCR, BoS or Enclave to unify and try and destroy the third faction.

Enclave companions (alternative of Veronica)

Enclave emergency radio, with a vertibird coming in to help you out (more limited then "Enclave Commander" not that its a bad mod but it is a bit unbalanced. )

Quest to take over a factory that will produce eyebots that fly all around playing propaganda music.

If NCR wins then they expand their influence and their elites get shiny power armor along with training for it.

If BoS wins they take over camp McCaren and move their troops in New Vegas

I think I am saying stuff thats pretty much impossible ain't I?

 

Sorry to ask but could you repost this on my BoS Thread as well, just in case someone reads that thread and not this enclave thread. Anyways,

 

While I don't know what the topics author may think, I love it when people put out ideas even if you think their impossible, (since maybe a modder will prove you wrong)

 

The BoS take over could break quests if after end gameplay ever happens,

 

I like the eyebot idea and enclave companion (maybe a frosty person like ranger ghost? or a drill sargent like character like R. Lee Ermey

A few other ideas

Maybe have a huge fight on the Strip as the final battle

Maybe have one of the factions betray you by sending you to a quest that it is almost impossible to survive

Maybe get a Vertibird vehicle for helping enclave. (before someone yells that it is impossible there is a Fo3 mod for it)

Maybe get a huge bunker for helping BoS

Maybe get ownership of a casino on the strip for helping NCR

All I can do is link you to good information, I'm no modder.

 

On a different note, I've accumulated a good batch of modders resources (Most From Fo3 Nexus, so some may not work since we can't use vanilla Fo3 files) That people could use if they wanted to make a mod like this (or just make my idea, I'd be happy)

Recently I've been looking back on my old posts and found this thread, I plan to rewrite it to better "lay out" the idea,

 

as I'm surprised everyone wants to join the NCR when the brotherhood could be much more immersive and you could allow players to be good or evil since the brotherhood would be considered Neutral.

 

Also could allow for more immersive ways of introducing new perks, energy weapons, and possibly armors and house mods.

 

Not to mention the promotion system has potential I feel to be very enjoyable.

 

But alas I'm mainly focused on the special encounters community project at this time.
