Elsarian
Ok here I am again with more problems that I cannot figure out. I have installed and played many versions of DR (Deadly Reflex) before and I have never not been able to get one to work. And this is my problem: Right after I install everything, the requirements and mod itself, I check the esp's and then proceed to fire up my game. Then once I get in game, it tells me that "Deady Reflex Reset" has been added. Then I expect for it to start up the menus so that I can choose my controls and everything. Well nothing happens. Right after it adds the reset, it instantly says "Thanks, you are now ready to play", and that's it. Nothing. Is there something that I am missing here? Has anyone every encountered this problem? Hell I even started a new game to see if that would help, but that did not work either. Please if there is anyone that can help me, it will be very appreciated. And yes there will be some Kudos for anyone who can help me. Thanks once again for all your time, -Elsarian
Elsarian
I am sorry for the double post, but I have found the answer to my problems. It seems that the controls are configured in DR's .ini. I will try this and see if I can get this dammed thing to work properly.
Deleted1848331User
I had that same problem too. Toke me a while to figure out :(
Elsarian
Well I am having another problem now. It seems that NONE of my special attacks work. Bash does nothing. Just goes right through the target. Horse Combat is not working. I can get onto the horse in combat mode, but once I hit my forward key, I take off as fast as I can. I cannot slow down and once I even tried to hit someone, but failed. Even when the attack should have worked. I just do not know what to do anymore with this mod. I will continue to read the help thread and see what I can find. -Elsarian
akilshaw904
You should try uninstalling then reinstalling. I had the same problem as you and that did it for me. *EDIT: Sorry i don't mean uninstall oblivion i meant uninstall Deadly Reflex. xD Also if nothing works you could try Unnecessary Violence, I don't use it myself, but apparently the maker plans to release a new one soon.http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24936 Hope that helps :D Edited December 2, 2010 by akilshaw904
Elsarian
Thanks akilshaw904 :) I have tried Unnecessary Violence before but it kept crashing my game and all that lol. But I do not have the most recent version either. I have tried reinstalling DR many many times, but to no avail. I even tried to make an omod out of it and not even that worked. But I will continue to try, or just go back to V5 and wait till an update comes out for DR 6. But from the help thread that I have been reading, it seems that a lot of people have many many issues with this mod! Then again it is the most complicated to install and get to work in my opinion. Like I said though, I will just keep work at it and try to get it to work or just wait for an update. Thanks for your time :) -Elsarian

Thanks for your time :) -Elsarian Just reinstalled Oblivion to catch a quick run through before Skyrim. I know this is a year late... but figure I might as well copy and paste the following from another thread I just posted in to help any desperate folks looking to get in a last minute Oblivion run like me: "To anyone still interested in this (despite Skyrim releasing next month), I can't quite remember exactly what part of this is supposed to work (a.k.a. this worked for me when I tried it a few minutes before this post, but the steps might not need to be in the order I put them in; and step 3 and 4 might be able to be mixed or individually omitted): but if you set everything up correctly in the INI file when putting Deadly Reflex 6 in, the solution should be something similar to the following: 1. Load Oblivion without OBSE, turning off all Deadly Reflex Mods (anything directly functioning as Deadly Reflex, not necessary to turn off the supporting mods) under the Data Files option in the Oblivion Launcher. 2. Open a save file with the problem character, and make a save file (I don't believe it's necessary to save over the same one you loaded). 3. Exit and check-mark (or activate otherwise) all the mods you unchecked in the first step. 4. Reload Oblivion without OBSE and load the same file and simply exit without doing anything; proceed to load Oblivion and your file with OBSE, and viola.. it should work. As I mentioned above, 3 and 4 can be interchanged or individually omitted. When I tried these individually (because I couldn't and still can't remember where I learned this) they produced confusing effects: I got the hour glass to finally show up, but it seemed to have no function and the keys still didn't work; the hour glass and the useless menu would show up asking me to set keys, but again the keys wouldn't work; etc. The above steps seems to be just some odd way of resetting your keys that links somehow with however you setup the INI file controls -- as talked about in the Deadly Reflex 6 Readme instructions for installation."
