  1. In response to post #10418248. Are you ordering the proverbial turd-sandwich?
  2. Not sure if this is thread necromancy, but I've got this EXACT same issue for the first time since I installed the game when it first released. I have absolutely no clue on how to fix it, I've attempted regenerating my SkyrimPrefs.ini, tweaking a few settings within the .ini, and so many other things including multiple google searches to no avail. This issue started directly after verifying integrity of game cache with steam. 10 files were apparently missing, so steam proceeded to download said missing files. It was a 136MB in total, and after it finished I ran my Skyrim launcher, that generated a new .ini, I edited it back to my specifications (all the same edits I had on my other .ini which I had no issues with), then launched the game. Everything seemed back to normal, no crashing, nothing; until I picked Tundra Cotton. I noticed the exact same thing EpicRandomGuy did. The strange thing is that this issue is not effecting ALL ingredients. For example, I discovered this whole issue while in Rorikstead, so I decided to test out some other ingredients. I walked over to the town garden and picked some potato, leek, and wheat. None of those animations have an issue. It seems to be the mountain flowers (blue and red), thistle, lavender, Tundra Cotton, and more that I probably haven't gotten to test. I hope this provides a bit more information on this strange bug, and I will uninstall the game if it comes to that. But I want to explore all available options before doing that. Before anyone asks about specific mods I'm using, here's my load order: Skyrim.esm=1Update.esm=1Dawnguard.esm=1HearthFires.esm=1Dragonborn.esm=1Falskaar.esm=1ETaC - RESOURCES.esm=1SPIKE.esm=1XFLMain.esm=1HighResTexturePack01.esp=1HighResTexturePack02.esp=1HighResTexturePack03.esp=1Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp=1Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp=1Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp=1Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp=1Better Dynamic Snow.esp=1RevampedExteriorFog.esp=1SplashofRain.esp=1AOS.esp=1Dark NightsB.esp=1realrainextended.esp=1StaticMeshImprovementMod.esp=1StaticMeshImprovementMod-DragonbornTernFix.esp=1StaticMeshImprovementMod-FurnitureChestSnowFix.esp=1adura_skyrimmerchantmod.esp=0improvedbountyrewards.esp=1Book Covers Skyrim.esp=1Book Covers Dawnguard.esp=1Book Covers Hearthfire.esp=1RE_RealEstate.esp=1Skyrim Immersive Creatures.esp=1Skyrim Immersive Creatures - DLC2.esp=1AMatterOfTime.esp=1Chesko_LoreBasedLoadingScreens.esp=1DYNAVISION Dynamic Depth of Field.esp=1WetandCold.esp=1SkyUI.esp=1AMB Glass Variants Lore.esp=1hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp=1Insanity's Daedric Sword.esp=1StormLord.esp=1Third Era - Dwemer.esp=1HarvestOverhaulDawnguardDragonborn.esp=1HarvestOverhaulSalmonRoe.esp=1HarvestOverhaulCreaturesDawnguardHearthfireDragonborn.esp=1AdalMatar.esp=1Ebonvale.esp=1OvensAndChurnsPlayerHouses.esp=1quest_pitfighter.esp=0RiversideLodge.esp=1Run For Your Lives.esp=1Thunderchild - Epic Shout Package.esp=1Bounty Gold.esp=1Civil War Overhaul.esp=1Differently Ebony.esp=1PalistovSpinningArrows.esp=1PalistovSpinningArrows_Dawnguard.esp=1Convenient Horses.esp=1ETaC - Villages Complete.esp=1ETaC - Morthal.esp=1ETaC Follower Add-On.esp=1Helgen Reborn.esp=1WhiterunAlivePiano.esp=1EnhancedLightsandFX.esp=1ELFX - Exteriors.esp=1ELFXEnhancer.esp=1RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp=1RND_Dawnguard-Patch.esp=1RND_ETaC-Patch.esp=1RND_HearthFires-Patch.esp=1RND_USKP-Patch.esp=1RND_Dragonborn-Patch.esp=1dovahkiinrelax.esp=1AlchemyOrganization.esp=1EnchantingAwakened.esp=1EnchantingAwakenedDawnguard.esp=1EnchantingAwakenedPlugins.esp=1The Dance of Death - Ultimate Edition.esp=1Inigo.esp=1XFLDialogue.esp=1XFLPlugins.esp=1moveit.esp=1Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo - Waves.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo - Dawnguard.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo - Waves - Dawnguard.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo - Dragonborn.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo - Falskaar.esp=1RealisticWaterTwo - Waves - Falskaar.esp=1DawnofWindhelm.esp=1OvensAndChurnsMain.esp=1OvensAndChurnsMinorInns.esp=1Lore Weapon Expansion.esp=1Merged Patch.esp=1 Thanks to anyone who tries to assist me and others on this insane bug. -Elsarian P.S. 3. In regards to timescale, I would personally recommend the Dynamic TimeScale mod. One of my all-time favorite mods, and essential. Link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10594/?
  4. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/369524-console-modding-is-not-supported-here/ <---------Console modding is not supported here.
  5. Technically, you don't "need" it. However, it's definitely a must have mod. You would be amazed at how many bugs are still left in the vanilla game even after the numerous official patches. USP (unofficial skyrim patch) helps prevent save bloat, messed up quests targets, eventual CTD's with long-term play, and so much more. It won't hurt your game at all by installing it (by 'hurt, I mean conflict with anything else). It's a very clean mod, and extremely useful. It's not that large of a download, so go ahead and install it. It'll make your life a lot easier in the long run, and possibly more. -Elsarian Edit: The full changelog is here: http://www.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Skyrim%20Patch%20Version%20History.html
  6. I like Imp's mod and all, but perseid's Realistic Needs and Diseases mod is by far the most compatible needs mod out there. Here's the link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26228/? I definitely recommend that you use RND and see how that helps out your game. RnD also has MCM support, so it can be edited, and even uninstalled from in the game. Very useful. Let me know how that goes.
  7. To add to what bben has said, if you want to just skip Helgen altogether without having to deal with it, then use some of the Alternate start mods. This one is the top community favorite, as well as my personal favorite. Link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9557 Even if you don't want to use it at all, you can just use it for testing instead.
  8. I can for sure say that number 1 is very common. I've seen mammoths falling out of the sky countless times since I started playing on release. Now, the others? By the Gods and Daedra, your game is possessed by Sheogorath himself! Or not himself, whichever.
  9. My current character, which is 30 hours in, is only at 7.53 MB with 73 mods installed. Your save is quickly increasing size that early in the game. It's not yet large enough to cause issues, yet. However, with that said, at that rate you will definitely start seeing crashing and freezing 10-20th hour, if not less. I recommend you strip away all the mods you don't consider essential for play, then start a new game and see what comes of that. 200+ mods is a damn-lot of mods lol.
  10. Save bloat can occur when you have very many mods installed. All those scripts and other information is saved in your savefile, so when you launch your game, all those mods aren't having to restart. Too many can cause your save to "bloat", grow in size, to the point where it becomes unstable. The best way to find this out is by going to where your saves are stored. Default directory for Win 7 is C:/Documents, My Games, Skyrim, Saves. Look for your most recent save on that character, right click the file, then click "properties", and it will tell you how many megabytes large that file is. I've been told that 5-10 MB is normal for the vanilla game, while 25 Megabytes and up is definitely save bloat and WILL cause issues like CTD's, freezing and so forth. Your PC specs don't matter if it's save bloat causing the issue because it's an issue with Skyrim. Let me know what you find out. Also, if the issue is save bloat, then the only thing I can tell you to do, to my knowledge, is decrease the amount of mods you have installed.
  11. Hmmmmm........what's the size of your save? Meaning, are you experiencing save bloat? I ask because no matter how well you get your mods to work with one another, save bloat will always destroy your game. I have a feeling that since you're running so many mods (no doubt large ones) then this is what could possibly be happening to you. Also, have you noticed any particular spots your game keeps crashing at?
  12. Best thing would be to scan your load order with BOSS, see if any mods contain a high number of dirty edits. After that, run TES5 Edit to see if there is a conflicting mod in your load order, and also TES5 Edit to clean those mods that have dirty edits. If you don't know how to use TES5 Edit, then I suggest you look at the many resources online that show you how to properly clean your mods. Links: Gopher's tutorial on TES5EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3g_N1jcZQ TES5EDIT Cleaning Guide on the Creation Kit Wikia: http://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Guide_-_TES5Edit Download for BOSS: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6 P.S. Remember to follow ALL instructions and advice these people provide. Be sure to read all descriptions and understand everything before tinkering around with mods and Skyrim. Be sure to back up any mod you decide to edit/clean so that in the event of something going wrong, you'll have a back-up copy. Also, if you find any mods that have an excessive number of dirty edits, be sure to go to the comments section of those mods and ask the mod author to clean his/her mod and upload it so that all those who use that mod will have a clean version too. -Elsarian
  13. Simply, put: No. You have to start the quest over with either another character, or have made a save before choosing a side, so that you could reload that save to try the other side of the quest. I actually liked that Beth did this because there aren't many, if any, quests that allow you to actually 'make' a decision. Either way, no you have to choose one or the other. -Elsarian
  14. I hope that's a good response lol? Don't forget that the information is neither confirmed nor denied, so don't take it too seriously. -Elsarian i am interested in it, it seems legit. so yeah, a good response. i am interested about how FO4 will come about, hopefully it isn't as lazy as Skyrim (with the side quests, the side quests in FO3 were fantastic), and they have a hardcore mode which includes a believable inventory system (one does not simply.... carry 100 brooms because they only weigh 1 pound.... and that you can carry 300 freaking pounds, which is absolutely ridiculous and extremely immersion breaking... but that's another thread for another time...). and since Obsidian has some of the original devs of the original FO's, i hope they both work together instead of JUST Bethesda working on it, because Bethesda carter too much towards the casuals, and we have to mod it too our liking to make it an actual survival game. but since this is "next-gen", it could be better than usual. Indeed. I'm really excited to see what they can do with Fallout on the creation engine. I wouldn't mind them keeping the formula they had with FO3 (different MQ and area of course) and instead just ram up everything else. More quests, more NPC's, better towns and settlement, more weapons, more creature diversity, and better design overall. Edit: Especially quests. Bethesda has been doing pretty poor questing since Oblivion. They just feel a bit shallow to me. But who knows, maybe they'll really ramp things up this time.

  16. I wasn't exactly sure where this should be placed, so I figured this would be the best spot. If it isn't, then I'm sure it will be moved. After looking through the forums a bit, I wasn't able to find this link put up anywhere, so hopefully this will be new to some/most of you (It sure is to me). The information contained within the article is NEITHER CONFIRMED NOR DENIED. It's stated that it is a leak, but it could also be false, so take things with a grain of salt and/or a mouthful. Here is the link: http://ugrgaming.com/2013/06/18/fallout-4-unofficially-announced/ Tell me what you guys think about this in the comments bellow. -Elsarian
  17. Seriously? Is it that big of a deal? If you had a free-to-play model then you'd be paying more than you would on a subscription model. If there are items you want to upgrade, pay for it. Armor? Pay for it. It just wouldn't work and it wouldn't promote much incentive for the devs to push out more content. A subscription model would promote a more stable "mega"-server and weekly content that you do not have to pay for. Everyone has the same stuff as it comes out. That, to me, is a better system for these kinds of games. If you can't pay, then don't play. Here's what the developers had to say: "The Elder Scrolls games are all about allowing the player to go where they want, be who they want, and do what they want. We feel that putting pay gates between the player and content at any point in game ruins that feeling of freedom, and just having one small monthly fee for 100% access to the game fits the IP and the game much better than a system where you have to pay for features and access as you play. The Elder Scrolls Online was designed and developed to be a premium experience: hundreds of hours of gameplay, tons of depth and features, professional customer support - and a commitment to have ongoing content at regular intervals after launch. This type of experience is best paired with a one-time fee per month, as opposed to many smaller payments that would probably add up to more than $14.99/month any way." I don't see petitioning Blizard about their models, yet it takes them so long to push out content. I agree with and find the ESO Team's plan fair. -Elsarian
  18. Very, very interesting. I really hope they have something to show. I watched the Xbox conference today and no mention of Bethesda was included. Maybe they'll have a presence on the floor somewhere and some of the journalists from Kotaku or Rev3 will get the scoop on it. We still have 2-3 more days to go, so hopefully more will be shown.
  19. Feel free to add your vote in the poll, but mainly this topic is for discussion on what we may or may not see from Bethesda at E3. Keep in mind that I am not talking about Bethesda Softworks which I am sure is going to have an appearance with Wolfenstein. I'm specifically talking about Bethesda Studios which are the creators of the Elder Scrolls games and the developers of Fallout. So, what do you expect to see over the coming days?
  20. Agreed  ! Not only would it be cool to see new combat animations, but all other animations as well. It would seem to me that if it's possible to actually add our character's body in first-person, that quite frankly change the first-person animations, then it should also be possible to edit the stock ones as well.
  21. Well, I'm no expert by any means, but from what I do know it seems to me that it can be done by opening up the NPC's inventory within the CK and simply remove the mask from it. Therefore, in game, he will not have it in his inventory, thus not be wearing it. Some one correct me if I am mistaken.
  22. I know, and use, all about the Dance of Death and what it does. However, it does not resolve or add to my suggestion of brand new Killcams. Dance of Death simply uses what Bethesda already made, but didn't include into the game. They were probably a last minute decision to not use those, whereas Dance of Death activates them. I am talking about making completely new animations, untouched by Bethesda; solely from the user.
  23. Hmm, interesting. Well, if that's the case, I wonder why there aren't more first-person style animation mods? I see all these new mods that make these rather cool animations, especially combat, however I've yet to see someone actually add new animations to the game that can be seen in first-person. It would also be interesting to see new animations for killcams, if that's even possible without motion-capture.
  24. The question is rather straightforward, obviously. I've noticed that most mods that change many of the combat animations only become apparent in third-person view. For example: You can have a mod that gives you this crazy cool, kung-fu-cinamatic, sword swing, whereas in first-person it would simply appear to be the same vanilla sword swing. So, my question is whether or not it is possible to either edit, or create completely new combat animations for first-person view. Even if it is moddable, I don't know a thing about animation or even how open the Creation Engine is with animations. So, what do you guys think? Possible? No? Thanks, -Elsarian
