Lore-intensive mod concept: Aedric armor...

Mannicarmo, maybe? Except I don't actually know anything about Mannicarmo except that he did something in Daggerfall maybe and was the villain of the Oblivion Mages' Guild or something.

Mannimarco was the strongest necromancer back in the second era who, unbeknownst to the emperor(tho he couldn't light the dragonfire thus was dethroned) had a plan to return Molag Bol, and his plane of coldharbor, to Nirn. He tricked the 'emperor' into doing a ritual that he claimed would light the dragonfires and trick Akatosh into thinking that this man was truly dragonborn and thus of his blood. When he started the ritual, he was killed, one of the men in his entourage ran off with the amulet of kings, and Mannimarco allowed a place for Molag Bol to set an anchor in the world of Nirn.

Mannimarco then gathered people and sacrificed them to give Molag more power to set more anchors.

All of this started somewhere in or around Daggerfall.

Mannimarco claimed the Ruby Throne.

And THIS is the storyline for most of ESO.

I don't think Mannimarco should play any part in this quest other than in passing comments and people trying to be necromancers like he was.

That's just my two cents.

Mannimarco is easily the most terrifying individual in Tamriel's history.

He lived through the Middle Dawn, where he learned 'His Mystery', presumed to be an understanding of Dragon Breaks and how to use them to acheive apotheosis.

He studied under the Psijic Order where he seems to have been given some of the first Black Soul Gems (by Molag Bal) and used them to agument his own power. He bested Galerion (one of the greatest mages in history) beneath the Ceporah tower, an event which would lead to Galerion's disenfranchisement with the Psijic's and the founding of the Mages Guild.

He spent centuries roaming Tamriel, building his Cult of Worms, achieving lordship over the Sload (also known as Worms. He's literally King of Sload) and creating powerful, profane artifacts not seen since the Dawn.

He orchestrated the Plane Meld in an attempt to draw Molag Bal into the Chim Ad'abal so he could consume the Daedric Prince and become a god. He succeeded, for an instant, before Molag Bal was freed and took his revenge on the Necromancer.

He somehow escaped Coldharbour (possibly with the help of the Vistage) and continued to manipulate kingdoms, possibly being at play during the Reign of Chaos.

He was a major player during the Warp in the West, in which he helped cause another Dragon Break and this time succeeded in becomming a god, ascending as the God of Worms to interfere with the domain of Arkay. He was so successful that the Jill's were unable to undo his divinity, essentially duplicating him as a mortal aspect.

A combination of his mortal aspect, his divine self and his student Falcar, found a way to subvert the divine protection on mortal souls and create their own Black Soul Gems, forever upsetting the balance of souls in the Aubris.

He then managed to bring down the Mages Guild, even though his mortal aspect was killed in the process.

He is a cold mother f***er.

Nothing so interesting. The Ceporah tower is simply a structure on Artaeum, used by the Psijic Order for various ritual purposes. Galerion confronted Manimarco abut his necromancy in one of the chambers under the tower, which led to a duel, which both survived but it seems Galerion was on the losing end.

And the Vistage is the PC in ESO.

At the end of the main storyline, you see Manimarco being tortured in Cold Harbour for his plot to overthrow Molag Bal. You can either free him, or leave him there, but we know he gets out one way or another

it will ever bother me how manimarco appeared in oblivion, a regular and mediocre high elve hidden in a cave. seriusly? the god of worms, that almost brought whole tamriel to it knees as a simple elf, thank the nexus there is a mod that solve this.

Saruman, a Maiar and leader of the Istari ends up a pathetic old man weak enough to be one shot stabbed by a mortal non-combatant by the end of Lord of the Rings.

By the time of Oblivion, ol Mani ain't what he used to be.....

True. Given his history, he would have been better suited to a full DLC or even a full game than just the mage guild finale, and even then more likely a better opponent for the Nereravine or Dragonborn than the Hero of Kvatch
