MarchWaltz
Hi guys, everytime I try to fast travel, quick save, or hard save, my game crashes. I did not recently download a mod, though I do run a decent number of them. This happens on one character, I load up another character and the saves are fine. When I went back on the "brkoen" character it was fine for a bit, but then just a few minutes ago it kept crashing, and I did the load up another char trick to no avail. So to sum up, everytime I save on one char, it crashes my game.

SoberBarn
For some reason running an ass load of mods will do this. Open your console and type "player.kill" without the quotes of course, then wait for your last save to load back up. You should be able to save after that. However if you have to do this every time you start NV, something else may be wrong, and the best thing to do at that point would be to revert to an earlier save that will let you save without committing suicide. This works awesomely, I had the same problem! Does anyone know why it happens though? I have about 30 mods runningMaybe the engine isn't allocating enough memory to process the saving operation or something like that? Why does killing yourself fix it? Yeah, I was having the exact same issue, and the suicide fixed it perfectly. I too want to know why this works. I just now dawns on me that one of the previous times this problem suddenly stopped happening was when I got killed while testing out possible workarounds for the issue. I just now dawns on me that one of the previous times this problem suddenly stopped happening was when I got killed while testing out possible workarounds for the issue. Crashing on saves/travel can be a problem if: 1. you began a game with few/no mods2. installed a mod which moved a persistent reference 3. played and made new saves4. uninstalled the mod which moved the persistent reference Persistent references are objects, doors, characters and items in the game which are important and used in quests and scripts. The game needs to know their exact location, and stores this in your saved game. If a mod moves one, then you remove that mod, the game goes back to looking for the ref in a place which disagrees with your save game. This crashes the game on save/travel. Perhaps getting killed resets your saved game info? No idea on that part of it, sorry.
