Story and Final Boss

Ok. I've been playing oblivion for hundreds of hours, and used hundreds of mods. I've done just about everything there is to do, except beat the story.

Lately I've become too involved in making my castle to actually play oblivion. I have come to terms with the fact that I will never finish the story. So I have 2 questions.

1. If it's not too much trouble, could someone fill me in on the rest of the story. The farthest I got was the point where you tour Cyrodiil recruiting aid for bruma.

2. Although I will never finish the story, I won't be depived of the chance to fight the last boss. I'm putting an arena in my castle, and I'd like to know who/what the last boss actually is so I can put it there to fight. I'm guessing Mehrunes Dagon.

Ok, this should be is spoilers, so, if anyone doesn't want the game to be spoiled, don't go crying to a moderator, you're the one who looked at it. There was also the spoiler warning. This should be is spoilers, though.

Ok, after you recruit all the aid for Bruma (you don't have to do any), you go talk to Martin. He says to go to Narina Carvain, and tell her the battle plan. So, they talk all dramatically, and go to the Great Oblivion Gate. You kill Dremora and Daedra (damn Clannfears!) until the great gate opens, and you go in the great gate. You go to the top of the Sigil tower, and take the Great Sigil Stone. The Oblivion Gate thing happens, and you're outside Bruma. You kill the rest of the Daedra, and talk to Martin. He tells you stuff, and you go back to Cloud Ruler Temple. Then, when you get there, Martin sets up the ritual, and you go in the portal. You go through, get these bands, and do stuff. You kill Mankar Camoran, get the Amulet of Kings, and get teleported back. The Blades are hailing you, and Martin says that you have to go the Temple of the One to light the Dragonfires. When you get there, Martin and Ocato talk all this poo, and a Legion messenger bursts in. He says that Daedra are attacking the city, and guards are dead. Dremora come in and start killing people. You go to the Temple District, and Mehrunes Dagon is attacking the city. You go in the Temple after hitting Dagon with a mortal weapon (and Martin talks to you), and go in w/ Martin. He says goodbye, and goes in the middle of the temple. He does this fancy ass thing with the Amulet of Kings, and turns into the Avatar of Akatosh (after Mehrunes Dagon kills the roof). They battle, Martin apparently gives Dagon a hate-hickey, and casts him back to Oblivion. Ocato comes in, and expressed his sadness that his one true love, Martin Septim, is dead (just kidding, but that's my opinion of High Elves). He actually says all this poo, and makes you the Champion of Cyrodiil. He has people make pooty armor for you (which sucks donkey %&$!), and does stuff.

Recruiting guards from the other cities is actually more of a side-quest than a step taken in the Main Quest's story. What really propels the plot is acquiring the items that Marty needs to open a gate into Paradise so you can go after Mankar and nab the Amulet of Kings.

You need four items: two pairs of sacred objects set in opposition of each other. The blood of a Daedric lord, easily obtainable by sacrificing any one of the rewards you get from completing a Daedric Shrine quest. Second, you need the blood of an Aedric god (the opposite of the first item). Only one such source would exist: an item that once belonged to Talos (who was, in mortal life, Tiber Septim).

Next, you nab the last of the known Great Welkynd Stones from the ruins of Miscarand. Once you get that, Martin discovers the last item is the spiritual opposite of that stone— a Great Sigil Stone, something the Daedra use to activate a Great Oblivion Gate— the big, honkin' portal they use to bring forth a Siege Engine like the one that torched Kvatch.

Only one way to get a Great Sigil Stone, folks: incite the Dadrea to lay in an attack using that very same Seige Engine. The target city: Bruma. The Battle is on.

If you succeed, you gain the last piece needed to enter Mankar Camaron's Paradise. If you fail— the good news is there will be no survivors to describe how badly you mucked things up.

Once you get the Sigil Stone, Martin opens the portal to Paradise, you get the Amulet of Kings from Mankar, and your happy little troupe heads to the City of Oz— I mean, the Imperial Palace, to finalize the coronation and re-light the Dragonfires. Mehrunes Dagon and company have other plans, though, and attack the city. You one and last goal is to keep Martin alive long enough for the both of you to reach the Temple of the One and put an end to this invasion.

Too late— ol' MD himself is made manifest in Tamriel. Martin believes there is only one last option now— he has to take on the Daedric Prince himself. Using the Amulet of Kings, he is transformed into an avatar of Akatosh and lays the smackdown. Dagon is destroyed, but so is Martin, the Amulet of Kings, and the Dragonfires.

The bloodline is extinct. The Covenant is ended, and you've just witnessed the last day of the Third Era. Good news is, the Daedra got their butts kicked big-time, Tamriel still exists, and time moves forth into the Fourth Era. You get some ugly, useless armor made for you in a few weeks' time, and folks erect a statue in your image near Bruma (at the site of The Battle of Bruma). Pray to Sheogorath that they don't depict your character wearing nothing but a pair of Glass Boots and Gauntlets.

Ah. So I didn't miss a good fight then. I'll definatately be putting Mehrunes Dagon in the arena. He's lv100 and has all maxed stats so should prove an interesting challenge. No avatar of Akatosh to save you this time.

If anyone's interested in the castle, you can follow it's progress here

It's gonna take 2-4 weeks to make the arena though. I've only just started.

Thanks for the help
