thelawfull
You know how the command tll increases your performance by a lot?, Well it also makes your game look like crud but what if it didnt have to?. Someone should make a mod for lower end pcs that lowers the distance of view but adds a thick fog to kind of make sense out of why you cant see farther than you could?, Maybe even just making it grey instead of blue?. Idk just an idea I have Edited March 29, 2015 by thelawfull
kniggit92
Sounds like you need this:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12525/? Almost zero performance hit yet hides low quality textures in the distance by fading them out if you use static depth of field. thelawfull
yeah but im talking about taking out those faraway textures completely but making it look like a fog to make sense of it realistically.
Th3Boar
So a little bit like in miecraft, where you can turn down the render sitance and the lower it is set to be, the closer a "fog" surrounds the player?
MotoSxorpio
The closest to this idea would be toggling land (TLL in console). However, this makes it so there is only 1 cell loaded and rendered. The distance is quite evident, as it looks as if your player is in a globe of "I can't see out". There was a mod for Oblivion that used script to enable/disable trees, grass, sky, land and was activated during certain events (combat, sprinting, fps). In theory, this could be done for Skyrim...during combat, scripted activation of console codes, add an image space for fog/blur to cover the missing render. kniggit92
A heavy fog like that would probably tax your performance if it has to be realistic looking.
