billyro
In Oblivion, it doesn't really seem like it is raining compared to Morrowind. In Morrowind, the rain is really heavy and the atmosphere around you makes you feel as though it's REALLY raining. My suggestions: 1- In Oblivion, it doesn't get much darker when it starts raining. The big, scary, dark clouds are above you and you can't see the sky, yet it is still really bright. 2- The rain is not loud enough. I can only just hear the rain, so it seems like it's just drizzling, not pouring down.3- I dunno. Morrowind. Play it again. In the rain. You shall see. Go. I use All Natural, but if it does change the rain, it doesn't change it enough in my opinion. What do you think?
majikmonkee
I've never played Morrowind, but on my PC, when it starts raining in the afternoon, it gets dark as night, I often stop traveling because of it. I did notice though that when it sounds like it's raining the heaviest, I don't see any drops anymore. Maybe it has to do with my settings, I play it with somewhat reduced video quality. ImmokTheSlayer
I use "All Natural" as well, but I can agree with what he's saying. The sound could be louder, but I think overall the problem is in distance visibility, there's no weather more immersive for me than a 'wall of rain' downpour. Perhaps enforcing a heavy sort of fog effect would mend that... the sound could be fixed by simply importing the sound files into Audacity and amplifying them though. billyro
@ MajikmonkeeNight time doesn't really count. It's harder to see at night anyway... Sorta. It when it is 12pm and the sun is bright and shining through the heavy rain that is unimmersive. @ ImmokTheSlayerThat's exactly what I did before! Not enough though, like you said, a big heavy fog that makes it harder to see would be much more life like.
