RevolverCC
This happened to me when I removed a mod that contained meshes and textures and loaded a save file that had those textures and mesh files in them. In my case it was Skyforge Weapons and one of my companions was still apparently equipped with the item even after I uninstalled it. The result? A bright purple item in it's place. It wasn't until I took it out of their inventory and threw it in the trash that I didn't have to see it any more. So what I'm saying is, the solution may be for you to re-enable or re-install a texture mod that you may have installed earlier in this save file. It probably loaded that character at the time of generating them with those meshes and textures and now is referencing them in your save game. Or you could start a new game, which blows. Tmoneybags
Angilla- I never used nifscope. I installed the nifscope program and was able to get the character's mesh loaded, but it doesn't see the textures in the folder because it isn't the correct format. Not sure how to do that. vTemporalZEROv- As long as MO doesn't exceed 254 .esp files it's safe, which means I can use as many texture/mesh mods without any issues as long as they don't conflict. Once again I appreciate your trying to help me, it's fine if you can't anymore. RevolverCC- That definitely might be the answer. Finding which mod it is is going to take a while though. I'll post again once I find it or give up, haha. I really would like to fix this and find the solution so other people with the same problem can fix it too. Tmoneybags
Just want to explain an observation. I installed the Mature texture and can see the difference in textures on the character's skin, the only issue is the color. The color seems to be missing, is there anything specific I can do about that? I also forgot to mention in the first post that if I go into showracemenu and attempt to change the color of the body it does change ever so slightly to a darker and lighter purple. I used to have the extended color slider (which I read modifies the vanilla files) installed in NMM before the transfer. I then read on the RaceMenu mod page that he included the extended slider in his mod and that I should un-install it which I did. If I recall correctly, this is around the time which this purple glitch started. I have tried to re-install the extended slider mod yet nothing changes, but I didn't experiment with the load order. So I will install it again, incase that is the missing mod I'm looking for, and change the load order either above or below the RaceMenu mod and post back on here with the results. Tmoneybags
Turned out negative. The first time I loaded up the game with Extended color slider lower the character's skin color did change a few times and half a second later each time returned to purple. I tried it again and didn't work. I also tried taking off textures and putting on a couple olds ones I might have had on breifly in the passed to no avail. Back to pleading for more help. I'm surprised that this is such a complicated glitch that nobody has found a fix for.
akiovash
Sounds to me like something is messed up with the files, What mod is it? and is it only the assets from this one mod that are affect or multiple mods? Also did you use download with manager to download the mod? If so try downloading manually nexus is sometimes stupid and can f*** up downloads downloading manually can fix this. EDIT* also while i know it sucks to abadon a game after a long time that is a very high likely hood what might have to happen, Word of advice installing mods in the middle of a game is almost always a bad idea and if you do you better have it backed up, thats why mod organizer has multiple profiles so you can have different sets f mods for different times so you don't have to worry about f*#@ing up a save. Thanks man, I had a feeling that would be my only fix for this since in a new save file the textures work beautifully.... Not sure I'll be up for creating a new save anytime soon though since I've only been going this waiting for The Witcher 3 (which will hopefully be open to modding as well since I didn't see footprints in the snow in the gameplay trailer...). Maybe I'll delete the save right before I move on the The Witcher 3 and if I come back to Skyrim I'll have a fresh start with no regrets. On another note, just in case, I did happen to use "THEHAGs Privat Tattoos for UNP - UNPB" and some of my character's tattoo slots are greyed out since I uninstalled it. Is it possible this could be the problem or would the tattoo slots and texture have nothing to do with the purple body? Update: I installed "THEHAGs Privat Tattoos for UNP - UNPB" again and the tattoos show up perfectly over the purple. Tmoneybags
Oh my god! I'm a freakin' genius! I'm not sure why but I was thinking about it and my last hypothesis months ago was correct! Since you could see the working textures in when something is in front of it, like water, or a fading character when they're too close, I knew the textures were working properly. When I said I re-installed "THEHAGs Privat Tattoos for UNP - UNPB" and the tattoos showed up over the "broken" texture, it wasn't showing up over the broken texture at all, it was showing up over a broken tattoo layer! AFTER SETTING ALL BODY PAINT/TATTOOS TO DEFAULT THE SKIN COLOR TURNED BACK TO NORMAL! Edited November 5, 2015 by Tmoneybags
GuiSBS22
That was good short story novel, still better than Twilight.
FarahTinuviel
I know this post is six years old already, but thank you for this!! You solved my two day old problem - I have already gone through uninstalling and reinstalling all my mods, was just about to uninstall and reinstall the game. Thank you!!
