New Vegas Mod Detectives

Actually I found out it just won't take the 12.7mm JHP ammo from Gun Runner's Arsenal. But, when I was trying to use that ammo, it had a MG where the ammo type goes in the HUD. So, I guess I have a new problem to solve.

Sounds like you need a bugfix mod. Mission Mojave is I believe the most popular and the one I use. Amongst thousands of other bugfixes in it, it fixes things such as DLC weapons being on the appropriate lists such as perk lists and weapon type lists and ammo usage issues.

I'm not familiar with any mod that changes 12.7mm ammo to say 12.7MG... or any that alter the ammo to begin with. If you don't already have it you should consider getting FNVedit Amongst other useful things such as being able to make a compatibility merged patch to get all those mods working well together, you can also look up individual things like weapons and ammo to see what mods change them and how. It would only take you about a minute to find out what mod is causing you this issue, and then you can either correct it (such as removing the entry in that mod modifying the survivalist rifle or 12.7mm ammo) or decide not to use the mod altogether. There is a video up on this site on how to use FNVedit if you're not familiar with it, as well as a guide. I highly recommend anyone using more than a few mods to become familiar with the program as it will allow you to solve a lot of issues yourself quickly and easily once you get the hang of it, as well as making small tweaks for personal preferences as you get more comfortable with it.

Just thought I'd post this again as I haven't gotten a reply yet and was hoping this was just due to the influx of mod requests. It's been over a month since I posted so I hope this doesn't come across as spamming.

Last time I played New Vegas I used a mod called Vance's Gun Quest which allowed me to return Vance's unique 9mm SMG to the Vikki and Vance casino once you acquire it from the couple who stole it. I have found 2 links to download this mod but neither of them work. I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction as I can't seem to find a working link. If the mod is no longer available to download and anyone reading this happens to have it I would greatly appreciate any help. Additionally, if there are any other mods that do the same thing I would also be very interested.

Thanks for your time,

lusk.

The mod you're asking about was apparently incorporated into the NVEC mod. I don't know why it's not available separately anymore but if you don't want to download the compilation mod you might try asking the mod author of NVEC for the Vance gun mod since it's no longer available. Or if the original mod author is still around, you might try asking them. If neither of those pan out, hopefully someone will have the mod and will send it to you.

When I was playing fallout 3, I enjoyed Fook's injection of diversity in clothing and armor into the gameplay. I remember feeling so much more excitement when seeing the talon company wearing all different types of armor and helmets, as well as raiders, wearing a really wide variety of items. Are there any mods similar to this for FNV? I'm using project nevada and caesar's new regime; both of which are nice for variety. I've also looked at the spice of life mod but i'd like to keep vanilla bodies in check. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Looking for a mod that adds bits and pieces of armor, especially a chest piece, that can be worn on top of/ in addition to normal clothes or armor. I saw it some time ago, didn't need it at the time, but can't remember the name. I think crafting was involved. Edited by SirDanest

Tailor Maid would be perfect for what you are looking for.

http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42007 - Diversified Mojave Wasteland. I'm not using it personally but it should be what you wanted.

There is also Fook for FNV, but it may not work with PN, Diversified Mojave Wasteland is a good option too.
