Personally I never have a problem against any mobs on SSP :PThey're all weak. The most dangerous will always be the skeletons. But best counter to them are bows. So I barely have time to hide anywhere if it's raining. So I end up fighting off spiders with bare fists. Edit: So I've spent the last 20 minutes staring at this while hiding inside someone's shack on the TESA server. There's no backdoor to escape, and creepers don't burn.
